Low-Speed Brake Squeal on 2013 C250 CDI (W204)
I’m having an issue with my 2013 C250 CDI (W204) where the brakes squeal at low speeds (under 20 km/h), especially in stop-and-go traffic.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
- Replaced the brake discs.
- Tried various brake pads, from semi-metallic to ceramic.
- Currently running Brembo pads.
- Installed new anti-rattle clips.
Could this still be a compatibility issue between pads and discs, or is there something else I might be missing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

I can only say what I do on my W204 and I have not heard any noises from them, I think the brakes work perfectly. When I got the car around 5yrs ago I replaced the rotors with Zimmerman rotors all around. I bought the OE listed brands for pads, Ferodo semi metallic front pads and ATE semi metallic rear pads.
I came across an MB worksheet showing where to apply grease and where not to apply grease depending on which set-up you have.
I have the last two brake calipers. For the front calipers I only applied grease UNDER the two anti-rattle clips before installing them on the caliper bracket. Every so often when im working on the car and have the front wheels off i'll spray some brake cleaner where the pads ride on these clips.
For the rear calipers I only apply grease on the caliper brackets where the tabs of the brake pads fit in. I keep the caliper guide pins completely clean. I replaced the caliper guide pin boots just because they looked cracked on mine.
I've been flushing and bleeding the brake lines every 2yrs.
