2008 C300 4matic Taillights

I had the taillight issue with the ground wire too small and melting the plug. I grounded the wire directly to the chassis, so that fixed the dim issue and the melted plug. I also bought LED resistor bulbs. They worked for about 50 miles. Now the right rear taillight doesn't work. If I touch a test light to the hot wire, 3 seconds later, the taillight will come on. Take the probe away, 3 seconds later, the taillight goes off. Seems like the resistor load may not be enough? Has anyone soldered a resistor to ground to add load? Should I go to regular cheap-*** bulbs again? Or maybe I'm going the wrong direction with my thinking. Thanks for any suggestions. Maybe a wire diagram would help. Any link to the taillight circuit would be very helpful.

When LED bulbs were first coming out years ago i installed some in my car and had to experiment with different resistors to get them to work/flash properly. I remember they got screaming hot. Now i just stick to the recommended bulbs, except for the low beams where i replaced the halogen for an HID kit.

Im guessing the LED bulbs you installed arent the correct ones. I have no idea which ones would work. i would stay away from the low priced ones.

You will have to match the voltage of the original bulbs. I wrote them down on the bulb sheet.

It may be a water issue. If you need an almost new set of tails (20K miles off a 2012 C350) PM me.
