Timing chain tension between sprockets

I am currently replacing the camshaft adjusters on my 2014 c250 w204 engine 271.8 with a kit picked up from FCP. I have referenced the many posted threads on this topic as well as youtube videos which have made this project possible.

However, I am running into a lack of experience problem, specifically regarding chain tension between the crank sprocket and intake cam sprocket. Since this part of the chain is not influenced by the chain tensioner I have been going for TAUNT as hell. To gauge the tension I have been using a magnet to see if I can pull the chain away from the guide mid way between the two sprockets. I have been going for NOT being able to pull the chain off of the guide at all. Needless to say I have not been successful with keeping that much tension on the chain and having the mark for DTC on crank and mark on the intake cam sprocket line up perfectly.

So my question is how much tension is appropriate for the timing chain between the crank sprocket and intake cam adjustment sprocket and how is that tension gauged.

Kit included:
Cam adjuster sprockets (intake,Exhaust)
Chain Tensioner
Various o rings
Cover gaskets
Non Kit Items:
2 camshaft solenoids (torx 100 cam bolts)
Cam Lock Down Tool
32mm Thin Cam Wrench

Thank you to all that make this site and others like it possible. One of the moderators on a older thread said " I can't seem to help anybody today" He had no idea how untrue that statement was!!

I was just informed that as long as the timing marks are spot on you are good. Can anyone confirm this?

I finally got the right bank cam adjusters installed and think I'm ready to torque these down to 130 Nm. My question is once I do that, is it okay to rotate the engine to check the install before installing the chain tensioner or should I install that first? The reason for the question is the timing chain is under a lot of tension and I might have trouble getting the tensioner installed.
