Dynavin D9 Flex install for W204 C200 Kompressor 2007 - Issue with power feeding
I'm trying to install a Dynavin D9 Flex ( https://www.dynavin.de/en/products/p...c-classe-w204/ ) unit on my 2007 w204 C200 Kompressor, and am facing an issue with powering the unit:
- Without plugging the permanent 12v yellow wire, the unit doesn't turn on at all (is this normal?)
- When I plug it to the + of my battery, in the right-side of my engine compartment, it works.
- I have no idea how to run the yello cable properly from the dash to the engine bay. The fuse box is on the left-side and I feel there must be a better way.
Has anyone faced something like this? Should the unit work without the yellow permanent 12v ?
Should I use one of the fuse slots or the cigarette lighter as a backup solution?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Trying to find one providing 12v all the time (the unit turns offs after 48hr) once I receive a multimeter tomorrow.
Is this a good approach? Can I plug it safely to a slot already used with another fuse? Which slots do you reckon would be good candidates ?

I wonder if you can tap in at the fuses to the left of the steering wheel? See if one of the slots is always on.
My car doesn't have this fusebox, however by running through there, I have found an entrance through the firewall into the engine bay (driver side, EU) fuse box.
I will try to connect to one of the fuses using a fuse tap like you suggested. So far my best candidates seem to be:
36 Valid as of 1.3.11: DISTRONIC electric controller unit
Valid for model 204.902/982/984: Electrohydraulic power steering 7.5
Empty on mine
9 Glove compartment power outlet 15
Not empty.
