I'm chasing down a TCC lockup issue in my 2012 C300 (A89 option). I'm trying to determine if the check ball at the end of the transmission input shaft (torque converter side of the trans) should move freely. I'm guessing it should, but mine is stuck pretty solid. I got it to move a bit, but it seems tighter than it should be if it was supposed to be free and now I'm second guessing myself. Not sure why there would be a check ball at the end of the shaft if it wasn't supposed to move?
I'm also making a guess that this is what allows the TCC lockup clutch to bleed off pressure, and if it's supposed to be free and isn't that might explain my issue.
