All Digital Instrument Cluster?

My local dealer told me the new C-Class in the US will have an all digital instrument cluster like in the S-Class. I could not find a mention of it anywhere. Is he smoking crack?

Also, does anyone know if a 360-degree camera will be available as an option in the US? I'm not seeing it in those preliminary dealer ordering guides that were posted here.

Yes he needs to put the crack pipe down. Been in the car analog gages.

Yeah, I know. The ones at the Detroit Auto Show had traditional gauges as well. I just thought maybe there is some option that gives you digital gauges, alas, I see no mention of it anywhere.

The Detroit Auto show is where I sat in the car as well.

I far prefer the traditional gages over the digital. To me they are a selling point.

Maybe the dealer got confused b/c there's a large central digital display in the instrument cluster?

I have no inside info. I didn't see it in the US ordering guide that was posted here, either, but the NHTSA recently announced it is mandating back-up cameras by 2018.

The 360 deg camera is available on the UK W205s (see the configurator), so I can't imagine that MB *won't* want to stay ahead of the curve (and safety rules) by offering the surround-view camera... eventually.

I've seen the 360 degree camera in an infinity. It's pretty amazing, kinda like oldschool GTA. It's cool because you can center yourself up between cars (left to right), as well as see where you nose and tail are, given the situation.

I have it in my Nissan and its pretty cool.
It look almost as if there is a camera floating above your car.
I believe Infinity was the first to bring this to the market a few years ago and now it seems that most manufacturers are just now realizing how cool it is and offering it as an option.

I test drove an EX and FX infinity, and while pulling back into the lot and parking the car, I didn't even look into the rearview mirror. It was so precise.

anyways, love the technology!

Yup. We test drove the new Q50 this weekend, and the wife fell in love with the whole surround camera concept. Now she wants her next car to definitely have it.
