Ordered my C400 today

Im sure the C class will have the newest tech in regards to safety systems with the stop and go pilot and the steering assist. It will also have the parking assist with even the exiting feature

I do wonder why the C-class is affected when it seems like none of the other models w/ the surround camera are....

I can't imagine why there is a problem with the 360 degree cameras on the W205's. I have had it on a 2014 E350 and 2014 GLK 350 and it works great. It's one of those features that you didn't think you needed and now I wouldn't want to be without it.

Well, to be fair, the surround view camera (AFAIK) had never been listed in the US dealer's guide that had been circulating here. So while it's omission was surprising, it wasn't as if MB USA had initially published a guide where it was available and then decided to yank it.

I'm a mercedes fan.just wanted to through that out there. BUT....360 cameras have been available in infinitis for a few years now. i've seen it, and it's great. i don't think a 'technical glitch' is acceptable. just my opinion

The problem is probably not with the camera itself but the software that iterates it into the Nav. Don't forget that the E350 and GLK are using the current, but now old COMAND interface. The S class and the C class have the new software, and something must be wrong with the way it the camera software interacts with the COMAND interface.

I just hope the camera doesn't get tied into an expensive options package (although I'm sure it will be).

Headroom 2015 C Class
Does anyone know how much headroom is reduced with the addition of the panoramic roof. The only number I can find is 37.1 inches of front and rear headroom in the 2015 C Class. The 2014 also lists 37.1 inches in the front. There is no mention if that number is with or without the panoramic roof. The roof or the roof mechanism must take up some of the headroom.

I just estimated the price based on the expected increase from the W204 plus the options prices listed in the order guide. I then negotiated a percentage off the eventual MSRP. I hope my estimate is close.
#38
what percent of msrp is reasonable for a dealer (and to you) if you don't mind me asking?
#39
I calculated the dealer makes 9-10%, including markup from invoice to MSRP plus any dealer/manufacturer hold backs. What's reasonable is relative depending on if you're willing to walk away from a deal or shop around to many other dealers.

The manager is a friend of an employee so we'l see what kind of deal can be worked once it's announced. Tough situation, they know i'm buying but I also don't want to pay full list either

Oh, I definitely think I need a surround view camera. I remember when I first started driving at age 16, I thought, "Why don't cars have something that tells you how close the rear of the car is to an object?" When rearview cameras were first available, I remember an author at one car mag (maybe it was Car and Driver) stating that they thought it was silly b/c nobody had ever complained about rear visibility before. Whatever, buddy....
I just hope the camera doesn't get tied into an expensive options package (although I'm sure it will be).

The 360 camera is what I really want (I'm sure a lot of people do), but at least I don't have to spend over $2500 dollars to get the regular backup camera, along with a bunch of options I don't really want to begin with.

Is someone forcing you to order the car before all the pricing info is released? Some people have placed orders with their dealers already but that's their choice (and their orders can be canceled and deposits refunded anyway). We are all eagerly waiting for the info but the suggestion you're being coerced into placing a blind order is unreasonable. If you don't want to place an order until prices are release - a very sensible position that I agree with - then wait until the prices are announced.
BTW, this is standard - every year, USA prices for the next model year are announced in mid- or end of May or early June. And not just Mercedes but other brands like BMW and Audi as well, their 2015 prices haven't been announced yet.

The rear view camera is tied to an expensive option...BUT, it's also available as a stand alone option (for the first time I believe) for $460 (still expensive by itself though).

You aren't being forced to do anything lol. The order guides are out so you know what the car will look like, just not the price. Figure on a loaded C400 to costs 2-3K more than a loaded C350. Not sure what the big deal is.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the piano trim? It's just cheap glossy plastic, not the real deal. I bet it gets scratched very easily, and it's the standard trim finish across ALL C-classes. I find the "dull" looking black ash open pore wood to be very stylish , as it contrasts well with the metallic/chrome bits here and there. Of course it's what you prefer, so anyway, great build,
