Whether it's $50,400 or $51,400, both are LOWER than the current Canadian base price of the W204 C350 4matic which is $52,800. I really don't understand all this "OMG, the new C-Class is so expensive!" reaction - if the reported prices for the W205 in Canada are accurate, Mercedes there has actually decreased the base price. This isn't a cheap car but when compared to the price of the nearest equivalent outgoing C-Class, it looks like pretty good value, at least in Canada. Hopefully, the same will be true south of the border.
I might have messed up the number on my previous post. 51,400 is probably right. But what they said is that doesn't include the cost of the sport package for example which is mandatory on first builds etc. This didn't make sense to me but that's what I was told. I was also told Canadian standard features are different....for example the C400 includes the pano roof....but this is all word of mouth.

The coefficient of drag of 0.3 is hardly class leading as earlier reported. Not even as good as the current E class

can somebody confirm please whether or not the garmin 7 inch screen features the same interface as the 8.4 inch comand screen? does it have the same menu layout, including 3d images of the car, etc.? is it the same overall system as the 8.4 inch, just with a smaller size and not as good navigation? or is it an entirely new interface altogether?

Because you cannot tether the car's system, to your phone (through personal hotspot) - so any apps you want to run off the car's head unit, has to use 3G if that is what the car is equipped with.

The E-Class is not the same vehicle class as the C-Class so that's irrelevant. The "class leading" claim is versus the 3 series or the Audi A4 and it's true as far as it goes though with the typical marketing sleigh-of-hand footnote. The C-Class does have a "class leading" drag coefficient of "up to/down to" 0.23, meaning not a standard C-Class but one that's equipped with features like Airpanel, which is an option that can be ordered in Europe (and only ordered if you have the traditional grille). It's the same with the claim that the C-Class has lost "up to" 220 pounds - read the fine print and it turns out out that only applies to RWD models and not 4matic models where the AWD system adds about 150 pounds.

the canada price for the c is interesting (another user posted actual canada sales numbers recently). assuming the "scale" stays the same, the base price for the the c300 is pretty much the same as the base price for the current c300 4matic.

i know there is a lot of variables, but interesting non the least

i got this info by looking at MB canada, and comparing the 2015 base price that was given to the user on this site (from the dealer) with the 2014 base prices on the canada website. the price difference looks promising (was hardly anything alarming)

With paying $52,800, the W204 C350 4matic has already pretty much fully loaded options except for $1950 Sports Package. W205 C400 may starts from $51400, but you might have to pay extra more than 10k to have a nicely loaded C400

The US DOG says that the premium and sport package are standard for the C400. I am curious to see what the price diff is between the c300 and c400 is (as I am sure are a lot of folks around here). It would have to be pretty significant (MUCH more that the difference between the w204 C300/C350) because that $5200 in options that are std would make a C300 sport pretty hard to justify.
edit: Just remembered, that Premium also is standard on w204 c350s so you can remove the word MUCH above)

Also, does premium and sport come standard on the Canadian C400 as well?
