End of warranty ?
Hello, do you know if it's important to update the software version before the end of warranty ? And how to know the current version ? Thank you so much.

Let's see motor has been replaced due to wrist pins, brakes rotors and front pads replaced due to pulsating when stopping, it has been making a creaking noise from door panels(they are on order from Germany), tranny is now squealing after motor replacement, wipers still stumbling across windshield.

From my understanding wipers are vin specific specific and I have to get them through the dealer. At this point I have been wondering it it's possible to get a different set of wiper arms from a model that you could use any wiper. I will order some of that stuff when I get car back

Running light problem
Have a C450 which is about 8 pos. old. All of a sudden the daytime running lights won't go on. The light switch is set to "auto" and the computer display indicates that the daytime running lights are on. No icon appears in the display. Otherwise, the lights work fine. Any ideas?

Squeeky car
Just over 16 months old now and 15,000km.. still love my W205. Few niggling problems that I am about to have looked at.. Just wondering if anyone has experience some/any/all of them.
First things first; When I first start the car usually 7 out of every 10 starts there is a groaning noise that seems in sync with the steering lowering into position. Quite loud and appears to be coming directly from the steering area. It has been doing it for a few months now.
Second issue; When I start in the morning, I can really hear the Airmatic compressor working, in a very sound proofed cabin, it is very noticeable that wasn't a month or so ago.. I am hoping its not a sign that its on its way out?
Third issue; the right hand side DRL is slightly flickering when dark. I first noticed it when I pulled up to my dark coloured garage door at night and got out, I noticed it shimmering constantly... Does it all the time.. Perhaps on its way out?
Fourth issue and probably the most annoying to date is the amount of dash, binnacle rattles over rough roads, bumps etc. When I first took delivery of it last year, brand new, there was a very rattley noise from the centre console area, around the DVD/CD slot - Comand screen. I took it to the dealer and after being insulted, by asking if I had attempted to pull it apart myself.. They found that the DVD/CD drive itself was actually not bolted in at all (from factory) and they had to sort that out, ever since then, there are squeaks and rattles galore that drives me insane. I am thinking it is because of the console that they had to pull out. Has anyone else had rattles develop.. Also, I am curious if anyone has the same result if they lightly push on the two binnacles, does it make a real rough crackly sound, almost sounds like pushing on foam.
Anyhow, thats a wrap on my short novel for now

How do I get rid of this lemon?
Hello All,
I’m looking for advice on what to do with my troublesome 2015 C300. I purchased this car CPO last year with about 20k on it. In the last year I can’t count how many times I’ve had the car in the dealer getting repaired. I’ve have had the engine pulled to have the pistons rebuilt (wrist pin issue), the front axles have both been replaced (the front left was replaced twice), the front passenger seat was bleeding oil through the leather and had to be replaced and the brakes and rotors were replaced because they squeaked so loud in cold weather. I have zero trust that this car will be problem free in the future; I need to get rid of it! Have any of you contacted MBUSA with an experience like this?

How do I get rid of this lemon?
First to answer your question, "How do I get rid of this lemon?" You get always get rid of it the same way the previous owner did: trading it in. This is how I got rid of the 2007 C280 W203 pictured below. As I wrote in a much longer post in 11/15 about my then-new (and very defective) W205 C300:
"This was not my first MB engine to have very basic problems [the dreaded wrist pin problem]. I ordered my W205 C300 in 10/14, and it was delivered in early 02/15. During that wait, I discovered that the V-6 engine in my 2007 C280 is included in the range of engines subject to The Dreaded M272 Balance Shaft Gear problem. That car was delivered (in Sindelfingen) in 09/06. I had thought that cars delivered that late were outside the range of affected cars. That engine is now the problem of the poor guy that got it after I traded it in."
(When that balance shaft gear goes, it will be a $3500-$7,000 repair.)
As the owner of a 2015 C300, I am all too familiar with the problems of the model year. I had almost all of the typical problems recorded in these forums, plus a few more. I have not had the sun roof problems, because my car does not have a sun roof. I have had not had the bleeding MBTex seats, because my car has leather seats. But I have also had such small problems as a sun glasses holder that would not stay shut and gaps in interior moldings.
The 2015 C-Class sedans are examples of what you get when you order the first year of a new model, made in a new factory, with an engine of a new design. I have read elsewhere in these forums that the wrist pin problem was a design problem, a mistake by the vaunted Mercedes engineers. It affected engines made in Germany also. (My W205 has a German engine.) That is, the wrist pin problems are not the fault of the American assemblers.
Your car is also an example of the old cliché about used cars: When you buy a used car, you are buying someone's problem (or in the case of 2015 C-Class sedans, multiple problems).

What's the best way to trade it in..?
There's no doubt that I want the car gone and I'm looking to trade it in. My question of help is more how do I go about doing that? Simply work with the dealer or call MBUSA? Who will be able to help me more? I feel like the dealer doesn't have a whole lot of incentive to give me a good deal on my next car or give me all my money back on the current car.

Mercedes can't fix navigation system for over a year
I have a W205 c250 bluetech with Garmin satnav system which over a year now occasionally loses satellite signal (not on newly build roads) and shows the car driving through buildings, in parks or across water bodies, sometimes up to 300 yards away. The system then gets totally confused and starts giving the driver hectic and dangerous commands. I have made videos of what happens when the satellite signal is lost and the satnav system malfunctions, for the benefit of the dealerships.
The MB dealerships in Vienna, Austria (I work here now) tried software updates many times and installed a new SD card, but the problem persists. Video available.
The main MB dealership here told me they can't do anything more to remove the problem. Driving with this satnav system remains dangerous and unreliable.
Has anyone in my situation asked MB to take their satnav system back and refund the money?

Wind noise
My problem was wind noise on the passenger side (RHD car). The first dealer I brought it to told me I was imagining it so after a few screaming visits I brought it to another dealer who agreed that there was a noise and ordered replacement acoustic glass. Problem solved !!.

Start stop
Hi guys!
i have a 2016 c220d with amg package.
i love the the car but it has an issue.
After I did 50km on a highway (speed 130-140) i stopped in front of the red light. The engine stopped immediately by start stop. Later I got green and start rolling. It was so strange because the car has a very limited amount of power and don’t want to change gears so I changed it manually.I mean that the engine revs around 3000 and it didn’t want to accelerate.
I went to the nearest gas station to stop, later I restarted the car and it works fine again.
This c220d is my first mb and I am worried.
Does anybody has the same problem?

Howdy folks, thought I'd just chime in from the other side to say hi also!
After nearly 18 months, and 18,000kms, I have to report that our C250 (German built) has been almost flawless, as you'd expect!
We are very happy with it. Comfortable, sporty, safe, and a great all round vehicle.
Would buy another one in a heartbeat. Tempted to swap it for a new GLC250 but we'll just sit back for a bit longer and see how things pan out
As always happy & safe motoring fellow Benz lovers
