New colour added for UK
Good to see MB UK added Hyacinth Red Metallic (£845) to the options list.
It was a sea of greys, black and white with only a blue to break the monotony.
I'm betting the new C could look good in this red. Was this colour always available to other countries?

We seriously considered it, even though it's being marketed as a Designo colour, and it's around $4,000 extra here (rip off!!). We went into our local dealership and had a look at both a CLS & E in this colour and immediately decided it wasn't for us. It's seriously nothing special, not for the money anyway. You would think for that price it would be something super special, but it's not.
Brilliant Blue is the colour we now want, but it's not available here, or in the UK ... yet!
So we decided on Cavansite Blue for now.

Yes, we've had it here in Australia for a while on the E & CLS-Classes, and it's available now on the new C-Class so we got quite excited as we've always wanted a sporty looking red Benz.

Hmm. looks like I better find an example in the dealership first then.

That's the best idea. It doesn't look anywhere near as good as it does on the configurator.
We initially had it ordered, based on what we saw on the configurator, then went to a dealer to have a look in the flesh as mentioned previously. And now we are so glad we did.
It's a pity the Ruby Black isn't available from the S-Class, now that is an awesome colour!

I saw the red (called Cardinal Red in the USA) in person on a CLS and E and think it looks quite sophisticated. It's more orangey in the sun but a striking red in the shade. For us Americans it's only a $360 upcharge on top of metallic paints.
