Hey Everyone. I have a Canadian spec c400 on order and I'm trying to decide on window tints. The standard features list I saw says the car comes with tinted windows. I assume that this is a very light tint?!? Does anyone know what % I can expect for a factory tint? I have read that an additional tint would be a multiplicative. 75% x 35% = 26% overall. I heard that metallic tints interfere with electronics (Em waves)so which kind of tint do you recommended? I have been looking at formula one pinnacle 40% (ceramic). I have ordered the cranberry red leather seats which I want to be somewhat visible from outside... So not too dark overall. Recommendations?

I'm thinking of ordering with cranberry red interior, and also was considering no tint. With obsidian black I'd maybe go for no extra tint, but palladium silver maybe extra factory tint. I think silver and grey cars look good with a tint.
I think all cars in the uk at least come with a slight green window tint.

I took delivery of my car yesterday and I have my tint appointment at a 3rd party location tomorrow. I am still not completely sure what tint darkness to get, but I am decided on the FormulaOne Pinnacle series. On the glass it says minimum 70% light admittance. I had previously sent a message to MB canada asking what the OEM tint was and they also said 70%. If I apply a 40% tint to that (70% x .4) I'll get 28%! effective tint....Hopefully that will not be too dark, because I don't want to hide the cranberry red seats

Stock tint is very dark, a bit too dark for my taste actuall, but I ordered it anyway as it looks better than any aftermarket solution.
Will tint my front windows though using the second to lightest film.

Any suggestions on what % window tints to get ? I have an appointment tomorrow and still haven't made up my mind...
I have a black/red c400 and want to protect from the heat, but not totally hide the interior.

I was in the same boat yesterday. I pulled the trigger on the formula 1 (ceramic) pinnacle 40%. Overall I'm happy with it. I didn't want to hide the red interior but I also didn't want the fishbowl look. If you go darker that 40% you will start finding it harder to see the interior colour. 40% makes the car look like it is tinted but not too dark. I will post pics soon...

There should be no issue as long as you get a good quality ceramic tint. Traditional tints are metalized and will interfere with RF signals.

I like how it turned out...I think it looks classy and you can get a hint of the red interior when you see it in person.

So finally got the windows tinted today, intention was to get 35%! But I wanted ceramic, either 30% or 40% were my choices! went with the 30%...
Didn't think 5% would make such a difference! but guess what it does.
Can't really see the red interior, but better heat protection, going to live with it for awhile and see how it goes, might end up switching to 40% though.
Will post pics tomorrow...
Bonus is I passed several police cars, mostly on local roads and didn't get pulled over, so might just work, from NJ btw.
Anyone in NJ have their windshield tinted ? Any problems with visibility or getting pulled over ?
