C400 upgrade to C450 spec
According to the source below, the C450 which will eventually hit the market will have the same twin-turbo 3.0L V6 engine as the C400...EXCEPT with new ECU software to boost the turbo pressure, which increases the original output of 329hp (in C400) to around 367hp. Sounds easy enough to flash and then bam... instant c450

True, but these will be AMG modified vehicles. Steering, brakes, suspension all re-done by AMG, just not up to the same level as the pure AMG cars. These new AMG Sport models are going to be like Audi S and BMW M Sport/Performance cars. AMG lite if you will.

Interesting if true. I kinda believe it since the C400 is already 50K to start. A C450 would be 55K and nearly 70K loaded that is AMG C63 money. Makes sense for the C450 to replace the C400. Hopefully it will come with 9G and in RWD with optional AWD. If they keep the price the same, it will be a bargain, but will no doubt **** off C400 owners. Thing is why didn't they just launch the C450 from the start, if it is indeed replacing the C400?

Insiders liken the concept to Audi’s S models or Cadillac’s Vsport, and the first of these cars to appear in the U.S. will be the C450, due next year. It will replace the newly launched C400, and will feature a higher-output version of the twin-turbo V-6, plus sportier suspension, wheels, and tires.

C450 replacing the 400 would be interesting... Probably worth waiting for in hopes of a RWD car with a power bump and a bit more of a sporting character...
I'm actually in the group that finds the C63 too intense and expensive for my needs but would love a little extra sportiness out of the 400 and would happily pay a slight premium to the 400. Did you hear that Mercedes? You can just reprogram the motor for more power (free to you), remove all wheel drive (less cost to you) and I will pay more. That is a higher margin car for you
