2015 C on mbusa.com

I just noticed you can build the new C class on mbusa.com. Does anyone know if you can only get the multi-spoke wheel on the Luxury version? I want the Luxury package but the twin 5 spoke wheel. Thanks.

Looks like that wheel is not available on the lux. You might be able to talk to your dealer about doing a swap.

Just built a C300 equipped as I would buy it... $62,060. One thing is for sure, this is going to drive sales of the CLA up.

19" silver multi spokes are $500.... where are the black alloy/black inside ones? There were 2 kinds of 19s right? I can't find those

C400 comes out to $59,620 for my build. A C300 comes out to $53,230. Pricey but it is as close to a small S-Class as you can get. Even has power window blinds for the rear side windows. Removing 4Matic will be the key to ordering one, but you have wait until early next year for that.

wow, wasn't up yesterday. time to spend 30 minutes perusing

Yikes, 56K for the C300 4 matic that I want. Except I can reduce it by 2800 because I want rwd.

Also the build function is glitchy. Even though the sport package is optional, the build image already puts it on there

Mine was $45,000 (C300 + luxury + leather + premium + rear-view camera). I guess I can figure on $1000 less w/o 4matic? Good thing I'm not in the market for another couple of yrs (when you can hopefully get a good deal on them).

That's not too bad actually... my W204 was like $44k.

I think 4matic is like $2,800 as joshg alluded to.

Are you saying 4Matic will not be available until 2015?

Whoops. Thanks for the clarification.

That means I should be able to afford the surround view camera (since I'm sure it'll come in a pricey package.... =P ) when it becomes available!

You can get a 5 series BMW for the cost of the C400.

You can also get an E-class for that money.

A base fleet spec 528i might be bigger than a C400, but maybe not nicer...

I don't know if they are really like for like.

Any news on whether a diesel will be offered for the US?

I'd be willing to accept the higher price if I can spec the car just as I want it. I want fuel efficiency and luxury.

24 city / 31 highway MPGs for the C300 are not very good. I was hoping for a least 35 mpg highway.

really? I was amazed by the 24/31.

6 years ago with my C350 which has comparable power has a rating of 18/24, and the outgoing C250 22/31. That has 40 less horsepower.

Im waiting to hear about the plug in hybrid. with the government tax credits, it might actually become the same price as a regular gas C, or maybe even cheaper.

I could go for the Hybrid as well. I'm just jealous of the BlueTEC engines available in the new C-Class in other parts of the world, like the UK.

C220 BlueTEC 170 hp/ 295 ft lb. 65 mpg highway / 44 city (US figures)
C250 BlueTEC 204 hp/ 368 ft lb.

From what I understand, European fuel economy figures are generally considered, how shall we say.... overly optimistic?

^^ correct, not sure what is meant by US figures because that seems overly inflated. The diesel will be the same engine in the current GLK250 and E250 bluetec. The E gets 28/42. Im guessing with the lighter C class, it might be 30/45 at best.

USA MPG is different than UK MPG. US uses US Gallons as the unit while other places use Imperial Gallons as their unit (these don't equal each other). More info can be found here:

Not only that (and what josh wrote), but... how do you describe "US figures" for a car that isn't for sale here and likely won't be sold at all? (presumably the US W205 diesel will have the more powerful version of the engine [I hope]).

I also realized that I had such a "reasonable" number for my car build b/c I forgot to include the panoramic sunroof. =P MB once upon a time sold cars here w/o a standard sunroof and eventually changed that. I hope they realize that not including a sunroof (I'd be perfectly happy w/ the standard steel one) or a rear-view camera on a car starting at about $40,000 is... ODD. I can live w/o the power folding mirrors....

Configured my c class online with these packages:

Polar White = $0
Luxury Package = $650
Black MB Tex = $0
Burl Walnut Wood = $0
Premium Package = $2700
Hands Free Package = $250
Rear View Camera = $460

Total = $45,385

Then went to estimate payments, for 12k miles, 36 month lease with 4539 down it was coming to $477/month, obviously this is without tax etc. Went to my dealer again yesterday, and they quoted me with the same build as above and 4539 down coming to 619/month, which is a little too much for my budget. Now i will wait for some time to get a good deal. Really going to miss not having the c class for some time
