The SA plant is building models that MBUK wanted after they made a decision not to import the Exclusive with traditional grill & hoodstar.

Mine was built in SA, ordered early April with June delivery put back to mid August assume because they moved production of RH models to SA from Germany.

SA has been building most RHD C Class models for the world for a long while. Same with 3 Series BMW. W204 saw a change where we were the primary US supplier with top up from Germany. With W205 moving to Tuscaloosa we now do RHD for global & LHD top up to Asia & mainly China.
Delays locally have been due to a metal workers union strike & some parts suppliers. The East London plant went critical but the strike was put to bed swiftly.
Interestingly both Bremen & Sindelfingen have also pushed back production I believe due to component supply.
