I've been following the forum for a while but only just registered, I currently have a BMW 320D Coupe Msport that is going back to the lease company next month and have in its place coming a C Class C220 AMG Line.

I've had BMW's for the last 8 yrs but this time around was fed up of feeling like driving the same car for 8 yrs - the interiors have not moved on at all and fell dated, when I saw the W205 it was an easy decision to move marques.

First impressions on Mercedes are the car looks great and the dealers have been more than helpful, just a little disappointed with the options (or lack of) we have in the UK, far less than the other countries and the options we do have are all tied into 'packages'. Also the time its taken for some of the options to arrive, the accessory brochure over here only released a very short time ago - I would have loved the black option on the 19" alloys but the UK seems to be the only country not to offer this on a factory car (why, I have no idea) so I have had to go with the 19" anthracite.

Also just been informed yesterday my delivery date has gone back from 25th September to 14th October, knowing my luck this means the car is late but still not just late enough to have the COM module fitted.

Spec of my car is:

C220 AMG Line 7 Speed Auto
Polar White
Red Leather
Piano Black/Aluminum Trim
19" AMG wheels with Anthracite
Privacy Glass
Premium Plus Package which includes:
Pano Roof
Burmester
Ambient Lighting

May I ask why haven't you chose the Airmatic suspension?

Its a company car lease so I've loaded everything up to my budget, and Airmatic was just further down the list than the other items for me - I have been driving the BMW for 4yrs on 19" wheels and runflats so know its harsh but have put up with it for all that time and am used to it now!

yeah seen that the other day, I notice they offer the black 19" wheels as an accessory now but still not an option on a new car build.

I'd like to have them on the car but I am not paying an extra £1800 cash or whatever it will be to change them over and be stuck with the anthracite ones - It did cross my mind about asking the dealer if he would do a deal on an exchange and take my wheels off as soon as it lands and swap them if I bought the black through the accessory route, but I don't think they would so not going to bother asking. Its just really frustrating they were not an option in the UK for a factory car.

If you want to buy those rims over the counter youd have to pay around £900 per rim, without tires.


IMO the anthracite 19.s are by far better looking than the black equivalent.


I went with SA788 anthracite on my car.

No car Jack comes with the W205 in UK, but is available as an accessory.

I quite fancy the boot lip spoiler but its expensive from MB - there were loads of OEM ones for the BMW - one in particular from SSDD motorsport that was £25.00 painted and was great quality - does anyone know any MB stylers who will be offering one?
