No 9 speed transmission if 2015 C-class

Sad to see no 9 speed in the 2015 C-class. Its been in the E-class in Europe for well over a year now. I was hoping to order a 2015 MY but looks like I will have to wait once again till at least 2016

Doubt it will even make it into the 2016 model year. If it even does make it into the W205, I expect mid cycle refresh

My understanding is that it's only available in the diesel models. Not sure why you'd expect it to be in the W205 gas models....

The '15 CLS550 2WD will come to the US with the 9AT, though any other variant will come with the 7AT (4matic, CLS63, CLS400).

It may take a while before the 9AT propagates throughout the lineup.

It usually takes Mercedes a coupe of years to fully integrate a new transmission across the entire lineup, and even them some models still won't get it. I can see the S550 coupe and sedan getting it for 2016 and likely the C-Class at some point, but it may not be until the 2017 model year when the new engines arrive. The SL550 will get it at some point. AMG cars will be years away from getting it, unless Mercedes surprised us with the 9 speed on the new C63 and AMG GT, but I seriously doubt it.

Wonder if it'll also be in the other non-AMG V8s for 2015? My vague recollection was that the 7-speed was introduced on the V8 models first and then was added to the other cars in subsequent model yrs....

Frankly, the 9 speed transmission only really makes sense on narrow rev range ultra lean burn engines. Otherwise its playing the numbers game.
