MB W204, VW Polo, Audi R8 V10 - SOLD.
^ I think it is CGI for sure but at least it gives a reasonable representation. Some pictures don't reflect the true colour so the best would be to see them in person.

True. There are many factors involved with photos that can affect how colors are rendered. The light source when the photo is taken, as well as the quality of the camera and its lens will render different color variations. Any imaging software used, as well as what monitor the photos are viewed on can make big differences too. Some photos will even "look" CG. Still, the representations on the .de website look far better than what we get here in the U.S. when we are trying to get an idea of what the car looks like in the various available colors.

There are usually two ways to do adjust your monitor, with step-by-step instructions. The first is Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Calibrate color. The second uses your monitor's program. Try right-clicking on your desktop and then clicking on your monitor's adjustment wizard. For critical work, there are also any number of pro and semi-pro adjustment programs.

Hey everyone,
I've been trying to figure out why my C300 tail lights looks different than all the ones I come across. Every one I see on the street and on here have tail lights shaped like two ovals. When I park my car at night and look at the tail lights. Mine look like more of a red line that follows the top of the tail light.
I'll try to get a pic at night. I'm sure there's a simple explanation for this but I just can't figure it out right now.

Hey, you probably didn't do much homework before you bought the car :-) Just kidding. Even I did, and I still missed a lot of things. There's nothing wrong with your tail lights. It's just that you don't have the premium package, which has the LED both front and rear. The ones that you saw has the lighting package, which is part of the premium package. That's why they look different. No harm done. You can always buy one on Ebay and replace it :-)

Correct adjustment of monitors for viewing Internet photos
Adjusting your computer monitor will indeed make a big difference. It will also help if you are correcting colors before printing photographs. Any of you who haven't done it will be shocked at the difference merely adjusting your color temperature to 6500K (Kelvin) (the quality of sunlight) will make. It's like taking off sunglasses!

But in the section Desktop publishing, "In the desktop publishing industry, it is important to know a monitor’s color temperature. .... Digital cameras, web graphics, DVDs, etc., are normally designed for a 6,500 K color temperature. The sRGB standard commonly used for images on the Internet stipulates (among other things) a 6,500 K display whitepoint."
In the Wikipedia article on "Illuminant D65", "D65 [6500K] corresponds roughly to a midday sun in Western Europe / Northern Europe, hence it is also called a daylight illuminant.
....
The CIE positions D65 as the standard daylight illuminant:
[D65] is intended to represent average daylight and has a correlated colour temperature of approximately 6500 K. CIE standard illuminant D65 should be used in all colorimetric calculations requiring representative daylight, ... ."
Perhaps the instructions for use of photo-editing programs give practical instructions for the proper set-up of users' monitors.White balance is another story. I have seen several pictures of Mercedes in different shades of silver that were photographed in the bluish light of after-sunset twilight or fluorescent light. The uncorrected images of these silver cars appear to be cream-colored as the automatic white balance feature of the owners' digital cameras apply a yellow "correction" to the bluish light.

Damn, I was all set on brilliant blue until I saw this, that's a stunning colour. I wonder if it would work with the light grey leather interior?

I can't believe that the red is not offered by mbusa. They offer the sport build, which outsells Luxury 80%/20% if I'm believing posts on this site, but don't offer it in red. Nuts! Bring red to the U.S.!
In my mind the red is quite beautiful and could easily be my top choice if available.

I think the grey interior would work well. I'd have done it myself, but I was already pushing my budget with the AMG styling and all the options, and just couldn't stretch to the extra for the leather, so mine has black Artico. As I've got two young kids, as well as cross0country running and mountain biking as hobbies, Artico is probably a better bet!
