My C63 lease was up so I went for something more practical this time. Double the doors, double the wheels that drive, and double the MPGs

I also added the night package so it looks extra dark. At some point I'm going to black everything else out. Just got it two weeks ago so only some phone pictures. Will go find a nice spot and shoot with a real camera one of these weeks.

Yeah, Its more practical and daily drive, but your c 63 is really fun to drive I bet.. nice photos you got! blackout out everything else and your car car will look more aggressive! I haven't drive my car for over 3 months now. am away from home and coming back in less than 2 weeks... I can't wait!!!!! Congrats on you car!!!

It looks like no such thing! I was made aware of the heated steering wheel as i was ordering. Those cold winter days will now be a little more bearable

Either way, congrats!

I'll be sure to post some pics of my own when I take delivery.

Aside from the handling of an AMG, what I loved about the C63 was how mean it looked from the front. On the highways I wouldn't even be going fast and people will move out of the way. Definitely not getting that treatment in a C300 haha

3 months is a long wait, though I'm sure when you get back in it it'll be that much better

I noticed the stand up star on the hood instead of the flat button style. Is that custom or did it come like that? If so where did you get it? The US model sport AMG package (standard on the C400 in US) doesn't offer the stand up star. Thanks

Guys, after some patient waiting, I do have my C300 Luxo. Maybe its the time for minor mods ... so any ideas appreciated? For one, I wanted your opinion on chrome plating the wheels, do you think they will look good?

mbinnl, thanks really for the comment, though I grapple with it since most high-end luxury vehicles like Bentley, Rolls Royce, they come with chromed wheels, in fact current c300 extensively uses chrome all around and I was thinking that chromed wheels will match the current visage of c300 ... though again I could be wrong and thats why welcome all views ...

It's not something I would do as I don't personally care for the chrome wheel look, but that's me, not you. If it will make you happier and you like the look, do what you want. Who cares what any of us think?

Actually chrome is not a an approved finish in Europe as the process for Chrome plating wheels is well known to cause wheels to be weak and brittle.
Many of the high end companies like Rolls and Bentley have wheels that are high polished and clear coated, or Diamond Machined with a bright silver paint.

If you want to add bright wheels to your car, consider actually doing a bright silver wheel or a wheel with a diamond finish. When I changed out the wheels on my own car I went with doing the Diamond Silver finish.

Chrome in most cases causes a wheel to lose it's definition and design as the mirror effect ends up pulling into the reflection everything surrounding the wheel, where a bright silver wheel will provide detail of the design and style of a wheel with a clean European look.

Also Chrome ends up giving most cars a cheap look, you will notice that most of the high volume low cost wheel suppliers offer their wheels in Chrome, this finish also is popular with those manufactures as it hides many imperfections in the casting of most wheels.

I hope this info is helpful.

C200

C200 AMG Line, Polar White, Premium, Cranberry Red Leather, Privacy Glass

Ordered 7th May and delivered today, 23rd Sept. Well worth the wait. Would be out driving now but got a stiff neck which makes it hard to look left/right and down.

Initial impressions: Although using throttle a little gingerly, performance is OK. The base sound system is not as bad as I had feared reading comments in other threads, its OK - heard worse/heard better (plays my Northern Soul/Ska tracks well enough for me) and pleased I didn't fork out another grand or so to obtain Premium Plus for the Burmester.

At night, WOW the whole thing lights up. Loved my Jaguar XF, but found a younger, slimmer and more flamboyant model that has captured my heart.

A special mention to the MB Dealer = Ridgeway of Winchester. If you live in Hampshire, call Wayne. Great guy, negotiated a great deal and very accommodating.

I was looking at the BRABUS Chip and exhaust system, but going to keep stock to see how I go

Very helpful OSMS_Carlsson. I think there is a shop in my state that does fine polishing of aluminium wheels ... will be putting a call there tomorrow.

Not sure what you mean. If you mean that you find throttle response a little slow, go to Sport mode. Throttle response is then immediate. I don't notice any difference in the steering or braking. Unlike Sport+, Sport mode doesn't drop down a gear and increase RPMs.

If you merely mean that you don't push down on the pedal very hard because you are uncertain what the result will be, Sport mode will help. In Comfort mode, I feel as if I am sending orders to the engine room, which then decides how much to give me and when. (I know I started this, but this is not the right thread for a big discussion of driving modes.)

Not sure what you mean.
Since car had less than 10 miles on the clock at delivery, did not want to throttle more then I actually needed so kept the revs as low as possible. Want 1,000 miles behind me before I open her up so I am treading "gingerly" for first 1k then gradually increase revs over next 500 miles, then let her sing.

As a trade in/cash purchase I plan to keep the car for a few years, so don't want to abuse her..........too early.
