Pimp your steering wheel [pic]

Why plastic when you can have metal?

screen capture freeware

Button modules from the new S Coupe, excellent cold metal feel to them.
part numbers:

A222 905 05 04
A222 905 06 04

Now if I only had my car to fit them to ..
Also waiting for the leather clad airbag unit also from S Class Coupe

You mean the door lock pins?

They come off but is there anything to replace them with?

I thought perhaps the pins from one of the other models might be metal and fit the C-class. (Purely conjecture)

I'm very interested in those, are you sure they will be a perfect fit on the W205 steering wheel?

Also, how hard will it be to get them installed??

^^ the center black area where the airbag comes out. On the C class, its plastic and on the S class, its leather wrapped. Note the round stitching below

I get it, its very nice,

But this along with the button modules are easy to replace on the steering wheel, or a professional is needed?

Most likely the steering wheel doesnt have to come off but I am not sure yet, the airbag snaps out of place when pushing two internal spring tabs, then I should be able to remove the metal trim to access the buttons.

Agree on that. it shold be possible to swap airbag without removing the steering wheel.

Vic would you know if you need to connect the car to the STAR software, or if you can get by with disarming the airbag by disconnecting battery and waiting x amount of time?

Airbag is an easy swap, the thing I am unsure of is how to fit the buttons, it may be easier to remove the trim pieces with the wheel off, but it really doesnt matter as it is easy to do.

If you dont have access to Star Diagnosis you can simply unhook the battery (seems like the 205 actually only have one) replace the airbag and then hook it back up.

I can provide step by step pictures once my car arrives, should be in about three weeks
