What is the Green Charge Display Bar?
I'Ve noticed a green Charge Display Bar in the dashboard when viewing the instantaneous fuel consumption gauge.
Does the car recharge the car's battery when coasting?

I found it once, now can't find it again. It has something to do with the electrical system recharging from braking. If you brake, some charge goes into the battery rather than from the alternator. You'll see that bar fill in when you brake.

When I first say it, I just assumed its for the plug in Hybrid when it comes out next year.
The Eco circular graphic gives you bonus range which is sort of interesting. You can earn in any Agility mode

I saw a testdrive/review on Youtube for the Active Tourer where they mention this...I think they quoted a reduction of 3% in fuel consumption thanks to this.

Not accidentally raising this thread from the depths, I just googled this display indicator (have been meaning to since last March) and wanted to say thanks for posting the information. Now I know one more thing about my car.

It is in the manual, where it describes On-board computer and Displays; Menus and Sub-menus(p.244).
"Recuperation display = shows you if energy has been recuperated from the kinetic energy in overrun mode(see Eco mode description) and saved in the battery."

This charging get green when you lift the throttle. It will then charge the AGM battery. The AGM battery is only 80%-85% fully charged because the rest is needed for the kinetic energy.

Info I found
It's regenerative braking. When you let off the gas the alternator goes to full charge, which will slow the engine and make you decelerate faster while charging the battery. It's a fuel conservation measure.
