I'll keep playing around with it until I figure it out. There's nothing in any of the vehicle menus, so it's not something that can be enabled or disabled. The manuals aren't much help, since they show features that are not necessarily available on all cars.

I have to bring the car in next week for the tire and steering column recalls, so I'll ask the service manager if he has any idea about how it does or does not work.

As far as I know, it is standard on all MB that I have owned. With and without keyless go. I usually have a pretty loaded up ride, so I am not sure if its a PM1 or some packaging that is required to have this feature.

On my W205 the door close buttons only close the doors, holding them down does nothing. So I have to assume you only get one of the two options to open and close all doors and windows.

Okay, got it figured out. My car WILL close the windows from outside the car by holding down the lock button on the fob. Holding the unlock button, it will not do anything other than unlocking the car and will not open the windows.

I've never tried opening the windows, same here - mine will definitely close all windows.

But the closing function is a lot more useful I think.

The manual says there is both a Convenience Opening and Closing feature. I don't have my car and can't try it until tonight. Here are the instructions from the manual:

Convenience opening
General notes
Vehicles with KEYLESS-GO or KEYLESS GO start function: you can ventilate the vehicle before you start driving.
If the SmartKey is in close proximity to the vehicle, the convenience opening function is available.

To do this, the SmartKey is used to carry out the following functions simultaneously:

  • unlock the vehicle
  • open the side windows
  • open the sliding sunroof or the panorama
roof with power tilt/sliding panel and the
    roller sunblind
  • switch on the seat ventilation for the driver's
    seat
Convenience opening
Press and hold the [unlock] button until the side windows and the sliding sunroof or the
panorama roof with power tilt/sliding panel are in the desired position.

If the roller sunblinds of the panorama roof with power tilt/sliding panel are closed, the
roller sunblinds are opened first.

Press and hold the [unlock] button again until the panorama roof with power tilt/sliding panel is in the desired position.

To interrupt convenience opening:
release the [unlock] button.

Vehicles with KEYLESS-GO or KEYLESSGO start function: if the SmartKey is in close
proximity to the vehicle, the convenience closing function is available.

When you lock the vehicle, you can simultaneously:
  • close the side windows
  • close the sliding sunroof or the panorama
    roof with power tilt/sliding panel
On vehicles with a panorama roof with power tilt/sliding panel, you can then close the roller sunblinds
Using the SmartKey

Press and hold the [lock] button until the side windows and the sliding sunroof or the panorama roof with power tilt/sliding panel are fully closed. Make sure that all the side windows and the sliding sunroof or panorama roof with power tilt/sliding panel are closed.

Vehicles with panorama roof with power tilt/sliding panel: press and hold the [lock] button until the roller sunblinds of the panorama roof with power tilt/sliding panel close.

To interrupt convenience closing: release the [lock] button.

The remote opening feature must be tied into an option like hands free operation of the trunk.

With just Keyless Go, only the remote closing feature is functional.

Both the Convenience Opening and Closing features work on my C400. I do have the easy access and electronic trunk closer features.
