Steering recall
Recall 2014090008 SEPT14 – 2015 steering coupling interlock mechanism is not in locked position vibration can lead to noises, steering backlash, loss of steering control. Dealer with check/confirm coupling is in locked position. Approximately 10,509 vehicles affected. You should be notified or have dealer pull Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) to see if your VIN is included.

This was discussed earlier in another thread, but I still have not received any official notification by email or mail.
I called my service department and was told they have checked nearly 50 vehicles and not yet found any misalignment of the spine that prompted the recall. The manager said that the misalignment would be felt as a slight shudder in the steering if it was bad and, that if I had no such symptom, I should just make an appointment for a visual check at my convenience.

Sorry I do not follow this forum but do post Recall and Service Campaign info across all models monthly. Anyway, as mentioned have dealer confirm if your VIN is included and if it is, I would want an inspection ASAP given the possibility of steering loss.

Still no US production cars involved, and no listing on any US recall notice website.
I have gotten nothing by mail yet either. I wonder, if in the US, this wound up being handled as an advisory rather than a full recall?

My C400 was delivered in September and I got the recall notice in the mail. The recall is also noted on the owners website based on my specific vehicle. It was inspected last week. No problem was found.

I'll bring it in later this month just to be safe, but it sure is an oddly low key recall.
