I only checked once, but I found the computer reading had less than a 1 mpg deviation from actual measured gas mileage. I was surprised at this, since all my other cars were 5-10% optimistic.

I'll check again, but I haven't seen anything wildly off in the few tanks I've gone through.

I only checked 3 times, but so far it has been very very close. I would say it's pretty accurate. I get about 22-23 mpg, mostly because I live in the city. But the 2 long trips I took I got 29

BTW Mercedes has just been accused of being the biggest overstater of FE of all automakers in the EU, up to 40% optimistic. ...OUCH Personally the 40% thing is certainly bull. The 1 mpg is probably more like it for most models.

On my c300 with mixed driving on city/congested i95 highway im averaging close 27-28mpg on Eco mode on some 15 mile trips. This is absolutely amazing considering my beater Scion xB does the same or worse with a 1.5L engine.

I haven't really tried sport mode or sport+ since I've been driving in peak traffic lately.

My latest fuel up showed 7,8 l/100 km on board computer and actual usage was 8,63 l/100km. This usage was mainly urban driving.

On a 114 mile drive to New York today I averaged 30.9 MPG in ECO mode. It was mostly highway with some stop and go. I used DISTRONIC Plus for most of the drive, including in stop and go traffic.

C400 - 30.9 MPG highway

90% city and I am at 11.7L/100km as well, quite good I think for a TTV6...in winter. That makes a sizeable difference as well.

A lot better than 16L/100km of my dearly departed 507!
