A star is born - C400
We picked up our C400 last Friday and couldn't put smiles out of our faces.
The dealership let us drive a C300 for a week while we were waiting for our car and we are glad we chose C400. Nothing's wrong with C300 and its engine is surprisingly powerful, but I thought it lacks some engine refinement being in a luxury car, IMHO. I felt like V4 engine can be pushed hard, but you have to push it while V6 is asking you to punch more and more. As far as the cost difference is concerned, it comes down to $3K+- because we would have wanted a C300 with premium and sport packages anyway.
Here are some general observations. Comparing with our Audi MMI, we have a bit of learning curve on the MB integration and find both touch pad and knob redundant. Rear leg room is much improved, but my hair would brush the roof a bit (I am 6'). We have two little kids and hand-free access option becomes VERY useful when going out to places esp. grocery. Intelligent lighting is cool esp. for auto low-high beam.
We look forward to enjoying this new addition many years to come.

W213
Yes, the most recent spy shots (published by Top Speed) indicate a similar dash design for W213. The overall body shape of the new E should also appears to be very handsome - rather like a stretched W205.

Congrats...that's a great looking car. I agree the price difference between the C300 with sport & premium and the C400 made it a no brainer to step up to the C400. My salesman said mine should arrive within the next two weeks...now if only I could get him to give me a C300 till it arrives!!

Congratulations, great looking interior and pics you took.
Did you have it built for you? In general (others who have ordered in USA or Canada), were they ahead/on/after their build estimate?

Thank you! We could not wait to build one so the dealer looked hard to get exactly what we wanted across the country and did a trade.

Congrats on the car!
Got a couple of questions for you while I wait a couple more months for mine..
1) Is the intelligent light system distracting or jarring at all going between low and auto-high beams or does it just work very naturally and smoothly? Didn't get any exposure to this during test drive. Honestly, I only ordered it because my SO was bent on checking as many boxes as she could get away with.
2) Are you able to tell which portions of your seats (front and rear) are leather vs. MB Tex (or "Artico" as I think they now call it)? I'm assuming on the "seat surfaces" are actual leather, but that can vary by brand/model.
Happy motoring!

I believe that the seat surfaces are real leather, but seats have a lot of non leather materials anyway (ie. back of the front seats, areas under the seats).
