What Do You Think? Pano Or No Pano ???
Any thoughts on the pano?
$1500 For Pano that you might not use to much? Worth it?
Also would pano make the C300 Sport Package look better?
All opinions would be much appreciated!
Thanks.

Pano.
If it had a normal moonroof standard I wouldn't pay $1500 for a pano upgrade, but you need something on the car. Plus, all the light it lets in is pretty nice.

I was indifferent about it, but the in-stock car I wanted had it.
It's actually well done and does let a lot of light into the interior. It's also quiet and seems to be very well insulated. The only off-putting part of it is the thin fabric liner that is used to isolate the roof from the interior. Most of us are used to solid barriers, so this fabric one seems a bit flimsy in comparison. Having said that ... it does work well and one touch is all you need to activate it.
It also does sacrifice some rear headroom, if that's an issue. Front headroom is generous with or without it.
As far as looks, unless you're looking down on the car it would be hard to tell it's there.

I'd base it on your preference and location. They seem to put them on most all the cars on the lot unless you spec one out, but with the combination of heat (in Florida), the loss of headroom, and the pleated shade instead of a full one, I'd pay extra NOT to have it. If I was up north, I'd maybe pull the trigger on it.

I opted NOT to get the pano roof on my C400, solely because of the headroom reduction, especially in the back seat. If you intend to have adults 6 feet or taller in the back seat, seriously consider not getting the pano roof. I'm 6 feet tall and my head hits the headliner in the back seats with the pano roof installed (I have to slouch to fit); without it, I can sit comfortably (but close to the headliner).
MB lists both front and rear headroom as 37.1 inches. That's simply not accurate. They do not give headroom measurements with and without the pano roof and there is a significant difference; I estimate about 2 inches. It is much more noticeable in the rear seats, but it's there in the front too.
While the view from with the pano roof give the appearance of roominess, without it you actually do have more room.

I also skipped it...just gets to dang hot out here in the desert (Vegas). Although I think some folks are getting it strictly for cosmetic reasons...it looks good...and there's no concern of how it affects the interior...heat or headroom wise.

definitely with the pano... I haven't used it so far, but the added it to the one I ordered. I guess it also depends on where you live, if it's a place where you don't have much summers, and really cold rest of the year, probably not.

I've never owned a car that even had the option to have a pano roof so when I began considering the W205 it was definitely a contributing factor. The only downside is that I really want to put a box on the roof for our weekend ski trips but then I lose all that glorious light coming through the glass!

North East here. I love the pano. Winters will be amazing with the extra light, driving in spring/fall under city lights will be great, and summers will be nice with the roof open (closet thing I will have to my now sold convertible).
I don't think the heat will be that much of an issue, but I park mostly in garages so theres that..
