C400 or C450?
Looks like MB has confirmed there will be a C450 amg line in the near future.
Do you guys think I should get the C400 now ?( big discounts)
Or maybe wait several months for the new C450 amg sport?
C400 started at 49000, so how about C450 will be?

IMO, I'd say to DEFINITELY wait for the C450. Assuming you've test driven C400, and can read on many test drive reports, the C400 4matic is pretty powerful, but NOT the best handling version of this car. The C450 potentially will fix that.
Pricing should be announced before long. If they drop mandatory AWD (a 2k save) it might not be so much of a price difference, and for more power and better handling and on the AMG rung. Someone more experienced with MB pricing may be better able to speculate on pricing than me.

Offical news on german sites, lists that the C450 4matic will get brakes and "suspension components" from the genuine AMG model. Not specified if this means the actual identical suspension as the Genuine AMG, or just some of the components.

I think what it boils down to is how long are you willing to wait? I needed a new car asap so the decision was easy.

What do you think the C450 will offer you that the C400 doesn't? Conversely, what do you think the C400 is lacking?
If you have reservations about the 400, and think the 450 may offer you more of what you want in a car then, yes, wait for the next model ... whenever it may come out and for whatever premium price it brings.

It comes as standard with the Avantgarde exterior. This is more understated, and suits the C400 package better then the AMG body kit. Not that i dont think it looks great in AMG form, but those huge air scoops at the front, and side skirts, are a bit silly. It seems to me that anyone over age forty (not addicted to video games) ought to have a problem with that look.

The C450 is going to compete with the Audi S4, and the coming BMW M-Sports, Mercedes is not stupid, they will price it close to their competitors. A loaded S4 is about $64,500 in the USA.

You are probably not going to see C450s being delivered until next Sept/Oct. Then everyone will be having the debate about how the price is obscene for what you get and the c400 was a better "deal". And then people will spend the next few months trying to get pricing deals on a c450, and right when it seems like the price is right, the next big thing comes out, or you are so close in the price to the c63, you might as well get that!
I think what it boils down to is how long are you willing to wait? I needed a new car asap so the decision was easy.

Here in europe the C400 is a better balanced and more grown up package. It should be able to stand up against the new C450, as the performance oriented, but understated choice.

Why is everyone. Fixated on the brakes? The c400 already has 4pot calipers that are better than the base c class. They are as powerfull as anything in an already powerful class. The only thing that can be significntly sportified is the suspension. The addtionnal ponies probably wont hurt either but less than ten % more ponies will not make much difference. Basicly it means that the c63 will ludicrously expensive so they will need a cheap version to compete with the s4 and m3.

I hadn't heard complaints on brakes, but C400 awd balance and agility, yes. I thought brakes of the C400 and C300 were great. Unless you needed vehicle asap or AWD, and interested in more straight line accelerating over the agility of the C300, C450 will likely be much more car, than just the percentage of HP for not that much more relative money, and worth the wait. Delayed gratification is never easy though.

65,375 @ MBUSA with every factory option. If the C450 is a replacement for the 400 as almost everyone seems to think, I don't see it being a lot more, around $3 k is my guess. 4matic may be an option on the 450, that would knock the total price down 2k. 43 Days till Detroit...

Very doubtful its a replacement more probably simply a version of it. The 400 is the replacement for the long lived 350, it will probably live as long and have multiple versions of itself in a variety of tunes.

The 450 is not intended to replace the 400. It is in addition to the 400. Must say I can't wait to drive one but feel that a 400 will do everything I want.

It would be silly for MB to put a model out for 1-2 yrs to only replace it.
I think they will just up the boost on the C450 to give it another ~40hp, along with a few minor engine/suspension mods and sell it for ~5K more.

MB is increasing size and staff of the Vance Alabama plant as fast as possible. In addition to their SUV offerings, the C class variations they list on MBUSI site for final assembly for 2016 include C300 AWD and RWD, C350 Hybrid, C450, C63. C400 not listed..always can change or be an error I suppose. Seems odd how very few they are selling of the 400s here to have come up with it for such a short time. Also odd to have basically the same car and engine, tuned and badged as the entry level AMG with C450. Time will tell.
As have said before, I know it's all about them making $$, but I'd like fewer platform variations, and much more R & D into reliability and bug fixes. It's the achilles heel of the German luxury cars.

My comments apply to international intent where Benz is filling market niches much as Audi does with S & RS ranges.
MBUSA is always doing strange things so who knows.

That is because the C400 is being dropped/replaced in the U.S. I'm not sure why some here can't accept this. I just don't see what the big deal is. It isn't like Mercedes hasn't done this before. There have been plenty of 1 year models from Mercedes. I agree with everything else you've said there. Germans would KILL the Japanese luxury brands if they could make their cars as easy to own/live with and great reliability.
