Having had no live traffic since delivery, I booked my C200 in for some troubleshooting. Took about 3 hours while I waited for it to be sorted.

They did some firmware updates (I think) and asked me to drive around for at least 30 mins after and then again the following day for around 30 mins.

In any case, the Traffic icon has been on the screen consistently since (bar one journey).

I got a follow up call last week asking me if the fix was successful. I told them things seemed to be working (most of the time) and I was then asked to take the car back in for a brief 'download' from my car.

Something tells me MB HQ are still trying to get to the bottom of this and a few of us are the 'mules'.

Been in today and had the remaining door handles done but they couldn't sort the live traffic, told me it needs a new COM module, which are on back order........but they have sourced one form stock at another dealer within the group so it's back in tomorrow for it installing. So we'll see what happens tomorrow.

I have had the COM module replaced and it worked for about 2 months. The traffic has now stopped again. Giving up with it and sticking with Google Maps, just not worth the time and effort until MB can prove they know what they are doing.

How can you tell, from COMAND, whether you're getting 'LIVE' traffic information or that received via RDS/TMC?

Ah, yes I see the 'Traffic' with little red car aside it currently so I guess its working. I did wonder if the little red car meant there was an issue.

Mine has bust again :-)

No traffic and the system hasn't updated the web app in six days. Online still thinks the car is parked in a carpark 200 miles away.

Mine went in last week for the COM module replacing but it didn't make a difference - Live traffic has never come back at all.

Its back in tomorrow.

I have never seen the TMC traffic either.

My car went in 3 wks ago - was told they are awaiting a software patch from Germany. Called for an update today - still no patch issued. It seems they have four cars now with the same issue.

I am in the UK and the traffic has started to work again as from this morning. I am not convinced it is a car fault, more likely the service. I have had the COM module replaced previously and the last time it stopped working a couple of weeks ago, I just left it and low and behold it has started working again today.

I have had no updates or changes since it stopped working 2 weeks ago. There is something going on, but seems to me the service is where the problem lies. Not great whatever way you look at it.

Perhaps its signal related? I'm not sure what comms partner MB use (o2/voda/ee etc). I'm in Manchester where signal is fairly good most of the time and I've had no issues with the traffic data since I bought the car last week.

My traffic worked for about a week before disappearing, hadnt noticed until I sat in a traffic jam on the M1 thinking the car should have known. Dealer says they have a Mercedes TIPS document on the fault and reset the software last week to reactivate the com module, he did say they they are still awaiting a further software update for a permanent fix.

They couldnt get mine working at all yesterday, despite the new COM module from last week - they have asked to have it for a few days so its booked in for 3 days in May.

Halfway to leeds today on the M1 and completely out of the blue live traffic kicked in!!

First time in around 2-3 months I reckon and about a week after having the COM module changed. Let's see how long it lasts.

I think this has to be mobile signal issues. Mine went off while travelling North at the weekend. It came back as soon as we got into a city. After spending 20 minutes in a traffic jam it could have taken me around if signal hadn't been lost!

Out of interest, was that the first (or second) journey of at least 30 mins you've made since the visit to the dealer?

To be honest I can't think, it's round about 30 mins to work and I've done that journey about a dozen times. I Could say for sure it's the first substantial journey I've done as it was about an hour, but the live traffic kicked in approx 30 mins into it. When I took it back to the dealer a few days after they had replaced the COM module and told them no joy, they said they had someone sit with it for above an hour turned on but couldn't get it to work.

Who knows??!!

The only reason I asked as the TSB which my dealer followed recommended that after the update, the car be driven for 30 mins (no break). It should then be left overnight and the driven for 'as long as possible' - ideally 45 minutes after which it should start working

It fixed my traffic (has worked every journey since) so I was curious if they also recommended that to you. (Assuming they applied the same TSB of course).

SORTED! At last, got a call from dealer earlier this week, car went in Friday for software patch, job done & been working ever since. Nice to see traffic on satnav and Mercedes me is working again.

Hi, I live in Los Angeles-- & we get the worst traffic! I spend approx. 4 hours A DAY, sitting in traffic. I have been pretty surprised how accurate the live traffic data is captured.

However, I sometimes get prompts that the nav. is suggesting an alternate route & takes me way off course-- into more traffic! I have been re-routed in circles before.

Thus I tend to rely on my mobile phone/google maps... which is kind of disappointing with that massive screen! Whats the point.

Finally got mine fixed again today. The chap said they installed a load of software patches on it and couldn't find anything wrong with the aerials or hardware.

Seems to all be working again, although they returned the car missing the start button!

I love the real time traffic. Much better then BMW's. I also like how Marlene (that's her name) reads to me the updated traffic events in the route. I don't have any 3d images though (South Florida here). Wondered if others in the area had 3d rendering. I do have the map set to 3d orientation. I don't get the red and yellow dots someone mentioned but about two scales in elevation I do get red hello and green lines for traffic congestion.

Driving from Birmingham to London today it didn't work until about 20 miles from my destination.

My Tom Tom in the car had full traffic info right from the start. It's the same service, how hard can it be Mercedes?
