My 6 wk old C class is going back to the dealer Friday while they have a look at the problem of the Traffic updates not working. They say they have no ideas at this stage.

I was told MB know about this and it will be resolved by an update in August.

I presume you have tried pulling the fuse to re-start it?

The fuse pulling no longer works for me after the latest software update. I suspect this is a service/infrastructure issue rather than the car.

I'm not having problems at the moment - but just in case, which fuse box is it in?

There appear to several and I can't find a plan as to which fuse does what circuits. The manual suggest that the fuse box in the boot has the fuse schedule - but not in mine.

It's in the fuse box on the passenger foot well wall (interior). It's the top right 5 amp fuse (309)

Hmm - that does seem strange.... The services obviously did work, up until the software update.

I wonder if it might be worth a conversation with the Mercedes Me helpdesk, to get the Service stopped and re-built against your car. It seems quite likely that your car and the Service are now out of sync...?

I'll bet you a fiver it is there.... I looked a couple of times and couldn't find it. It will be tucked down the side of fuse box, but it is back underneath the carpet a little bit. You'll need to pull the carpet back a bit to see it.

Thanks

The boot in the C300h is a little different due to the battery - but I will have another look.

I had the same message from 2 different dealers in Belgium. It's a general issue, but they are very quiet about it.

BTW, the fuse trick doesn't work for this issue. It has nothing to do with it. It's a software problem.

Thank you ManiacGT as I pulled the fuse 309 last night replaced and boom within 30 secs of restarting the car the traffic was showing. I will cancel my trip to MB on Friday and monitor the issue.

Thanks again.

Hi Mbrackeva, Indeed the dealer is very quite about this problem. Today they promissed me to have a software update ready in wk 31. The problem seems to be the Traffic signal, but only for Belgium. I believe the story is true as when driving in The Netherlands or France the Comand Traffic is working properly.
Will keep you posted.

I had a similar call, albeit after I'd got the car back from the second time fixing it.

I told them I'd solved it with...

I stopped using the Comand Online which I'd paid a fortune for as an option and started using a 200 quid TomTom which actually works.

I drive a lot on the M25, M40 and M6. Reliable traffic info is an absolute must to me, hence paying for Comand Online. But as I can't rely on it, I've had to fit something that I know works.

Also the user interface of the Comand Online is shocking. If I'd designed that for a customer, I'd have been fired. Lovely big screen that shows virtually no information of value to the driver. What's my next turning? No idea unless I'm less than 800 yards from the junction. And if it's a large roundabout, we'll tell you to keep left even if you're turning right.

That's next week? Yes, please keep me posted. This is driving me mad, more so since they are using the holiday period to work on pretty much every major road in the country!
I've seen Traffic work in the Netherlands (briefly, between Roosendaal and the border) and in France. However, in France it didn't work around major cities (Paris, Orléans, ...) making it again fairly useless.
Anyway, we'll see after the BIG FIX.

Yeah, the whole "I'll treat a roundabout as a series of junctions" thing is very bizarre, I grant you.

WRT to the next junction info, that is where I find the HUD really useful, as it gives you the junction info.

Mind you, I would already be happy if they get TMC to work. The Tomtom Traffic module is a nice extra.

Great that I found this thread! The LTI in my S63AMG has never worked (got my car in November 2014) and it took a while until I realized it didn't work. First my dealer here in Sweden didn't understand what I was talking about, and after that it has been in the workshop three times without any progress. Actually, it's in the workshop right now and I'm hoping to get some feedback later today. What annoys me the most is that lack of information and the acknowledgment that this is a common problem...

Got my ar back from the shop yesterday and now, finally after three visits, the LTI seems to be working as it should. After unnecessary replacement of the communication module, disassembly of parts of the interior to be able to measure connections and also considering replacement of the entire command, a "brand new" firmware was loaded remotely from Germany

Question now is what compensation I should ask for

Be cheeky and ask for a new C Class as a replacement to this one, then when they say no, ask for what you actually want.... How about free servicing for 4 years
