Issue with windows
Just go the car washed the other day and noticed a continuing problem. It occurs whenever the car is washed or has been out in the rain. After the car has completely dried, when I roll down the windows and roll them back up again, the windows are streaked with water and its an extremely noticeable amount. It seems as though the door frame is somehow retaining water.
Never had this issue before with my previous cars. I emailed the dealer about it so we will see what they say. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yup, that's the exact problem. Did they do anything to fix it or is it still ongoing? It's really annoying after washing the car to have the window get messed up like that hours after the car wash.
I'm even more concerned with having the water inside the window sill.

I agree, if I had just washed it. This is occurring hours after washing or being in the rain. One of the times it happened was the next morning. I never had that before, but maybe this is "normal" with the benz.

I experienced the same problem, when it rained overnight and the next morning the windows seem to streak when rolled down and up again. I had to wipe the window and repeat the procedure to be sure.
I think some water was caught in between the window sill. I was bothered by it initially then somehow i started not to care.
Now i just wipe it every time it happens, which is weird.

The dealer called back today on the issue. They say it is a common occurrence for there to be a small amount of water, but it if seems excessive, they will take a look to make sure nothing is getting into the door frame.
I'll just keep an eye on it for now.

Every car I've ever owned does this including my five benz's ....
It's one of those things tucked away in memory... Don't lower yur windows after the car has been washed and dried for at least a couple hours

It's really strange. I washed my car thursday afternoon. Just rolled down the window while getting gas and its streaked. Granted much less water than day one, but this is two days later.

I've noticed the same thing in my new C. My GL didn't streak after just a few hours.
I washed my car one evening around 6:30 and put it in the garage overnight. The next day at lunch I rolled my window down to get my delicious Burrito Supreme from the Taco Bell drive-thru window and when I rolled my window up it had water streaks on it. It wasn't humid outside at all - which is why it surprised me so much.
So....I decided to do a test. I washed my car then washed my wife's MDX one evening. The next day around noon I tested both cars by rolling down the dirver's windows. The MDX was perfect and my C still had water streaks.
Not a huge issue - just weird that it would hold moisture that long.

The door will be designed to accomodate some leakage seeping through from the window seals. Sensitive electrics should be protected behind plastic shield, and the lowest points in the door frame will have drain holes.
The water you are seeing is probably the water that didnt have enough time to seep through the seal.

Nice comparison, thanks... glad I'm not the only one who thought this was odd.

Has anyone had a dealer diagnose / fix a real problem related to this? I've had my windows streak badly two days after getting a car wash. Not only is it annoying, but also potentially concerning that water is sitting inside the door frame for long periods of time.

Should there not be a drain hole at the bottom of the doors? Maybe it's blocked or even has a plug that wasn't removed at pre delivery?
Sounds absurd to have moisture inside a door for that long. Long term prognosis will
Be corroded door and lock parts for sure.

My car does the same thing. It's really annoying to have the windows streak two or three days after it was last washed. My BMW doesn't do this after just a few hours.

Not sure this is a non-issue for colder climates.. So far so good in my case (i do have the issue as well) but I can see things being deformed if water keeps getting in and freezing in there. Over time, whatever is keeping it there, WILL break.
