Can anyone with a Canadian W205 confirm that the exterior door handles are lit when you unlock the doors in the dark?

On my car, the exterior lighting was not enabled as a default selection. It was a simple matter to activate the lighting through the settings menu.

When you get your C400, you can adjust the settings on how long the exterior lights stay on, up to 3 min I think.
It works with locking and unlocking the doors so its a great way to find the car and to make sure that you have locked the doors from a distance.

In europe this feature only comes with keyless entry and only with Chromed handles. (which also comes with keyless entry)

Models without keyless entry will have non-lit color coded door handles.

There are several reports on these forums of door handle light failures. It looks like there is no pattern. Different handles fail at different times. The drivers door handle on mine was fine at delivery, but I just noticed that it no longer lights up. I haven't had it repaired yet. I'll wait to see if any issues develop before bringing it for service. I've had the C400 since September 20th. No other problems or complaints.

System is called "Keyless Go" but yes, only cars with this option has the lit handles.

New W222 had them for EU delivery option and they worked in Germany, but the illuminated door handles were disabled after it was returned to the factory to be shipped to the USA. Wondering if they were physically removed or just disabled in the computer. They looked pretty cool. A bit disappointed they were silently disabled. Dealer is clueless.

Just noted my front door handles now longer light up.

I will get them to look at that when it is back in getting the Traffic on the Sat Nav looked at. For my first Mercedes pretty disappointed with the issues that are appearing.

I have keyless go, but i don't think my handles light up. Im pretty sure only the LEDS on the bottom of my side mirrors light up. do US cars with keyless go have lit door handles?

Hard to tell by your signature picture but full keyless go have chrome trim handles.


Could it be that your car is equipped with Keyless Start? (only start button)

Exterior lighting should show as an option in your vehicle settings menus. Make sure it has been turned on.

I have full keyless go, and chrome trim handles. Out of town now and haven't driven my car at night yet so maybe that's why I haven't noticed

I think u need premium plus package for this in canada. I have a c300 with premium package, but not premium plus, and i dont have the door handle LEDs

no such thing here in US, must not be a thing for C300's here

I have the same, premium but not premium plus and I don't have door handle lights. Only the side mirror lights.
