Any Guess on when C450 orders open up? Price?

I didn't see anything in the NAIAS releases about timing of availability or pricing. Has anybody heard anything? A nice pic as your reward.... nevermind won't let me insert the image url for some reason but here is the link:

i dont think it can be more than $3k above the c400 or theyll price themselves right out the market.

At $3k additional I'd go for it for sure.... my guess is that they won't make the decision that easy. That said, I believe it is going to have a strong list of standard options so maybe it won't end up being that much more than an optioned up C400.

after this year, yes, which is why they can't price it too high and leave a too large gap between it and the c300

Does anyone know if the C450 will have the airmatic suspension (as an option at least)?

I haven't read anything, but can't imagine they wouldn't. An extra way to make money, and a very cool feature.

I'm excited to test drive the C450. I sure wish hey had rear wheel version coming of it. Will be cool if feels more agile like the C300 compared to C400, just faster.

Likewise. In the UK we just have the C200 as a petrol version and the full fat, in your face C63 out soon, so I would be interested in the C450 if it is priced well.

I'm not sure how much it would be above the C200 or below the C63 though. If you're looking at a _fully_ spec'ed C200 it comes in at about £42,000. If the C450 with the same options comes in at £45-48,000 then it would be tough to resist the extra power for (marginally) more money. My initial guess is that it will be more than this though...

The owner of my dealership is meeting with someone from MB Canada tomorrow (Tuesday). He'll be asking a number of questions about my pending order, one being the availability of Designo interior leather for this car. I don't think the Alabama plant has the capacity for Designo options yet (other than one paint colour Diamond White...big *** deal) but I'm assuming this will change when the C63's start production - which is shortly. Hopefully they extend this stuff to the rest of the C line sometime this year, including the C450.

The other question is "when" so hopefully I'll have something later in the week. No price info for a while as everyone knows. For Canada, I'm gonna say a fully loaded C450 will come in at $67k (CDN). By comparison, a fully loaded C400 here lists for approx. $65k CDN. Anything less will be a bonus, anything more...might have to think about it. The first media drives will be telling so it's gonna be a "wait and see" till then. I'm optimistic that this car will impress, it's specs certainly indicate it's got the potential. My benchmark will be how it compares to the M235 xDrive...which I absolutely love. A little bit smaller but one of the best, all-round performance cars that BMW currently builds.

Fully loaded C400 actually comes out at 69k (Online code M3764483 if you want to check on Mercedes Canadas website) so I can see a fully loaded C450 costing about 72k.

Agreed, should have said "very well optioned" as I wouldn't spend the money on a couple of things. 2 to 3k difference to the upside seems to be the consensus though....time will tell.

Word from the Detroit show floor is that the C400 and C450 will be sold side by side for the 2016 model year. Very confusing.

Makes you wonder if they are keeping the c400 (currently $48k to start) around one more year as a baseline to establish the higher price for the c450. Then after this is established then the c400 could disappear. Looks like around $55k MSRP for c450.

That could very well be at this point. I think this would be a great time for them to offer a C400 Luxury model and just keep it in the lineup with the AMG Sport only C450.

Which would certainly address the concerns of those who 1) won't drive a Mercedes with 4 cylinders, no matter it's competence and 2) don't want the harsher ride of a high-performance sedan.

I would be first in line for a C400 Luxury.

I've been waiting for the C450 and am very curious to see what the reviewers have to say about it. The 2 door coupe is supposed to debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show. That's the one I'll be watching closest. Having said that, here in Canada we don't get the discounts that the US does, so an already more expensive car is a good 25-30% more here after taxes. The Infiniti Q60 concept has wowed me so there is a good chance I'll go with that instead. Keeping my options open for now.

I'll throw in my guess, with help from my dealer's speculation (no hard data). Fall orders for C450 and starting $4500k more than C400 was, but will have the AMG badging and better drive with rear weighted all wheel drive.

the way he worded, i assumed he meant on the back of it. the tiny side fender badging is nothing.

you can buy the badge anywhere, but don't let the purists on this forum know or they'll ridicule you to no end. they take it -very- seriously
