A beatuiful detailed picture. like the fact that you can see the dashboard screen through the front window

We do not get this warning on a US vehicle. I have never seen this "door open" graphic, and wish we did have it.

This happened to me - I think it's when you move to fast to move from drive to park and then turn off the car.

GLA230
Rollaway Notice

Thanks for your posting. I have a 2015 GLA, received that notice on my dashboard, but could find nowhere in the owner's manual about the door being open as a problem. I simply had one big clunk transmission noise when I put the car in reverse and I feared the worst. I tried slamming the door shut and the message is now off. Any time I hear the letter "T" as in transmission, I panic. I am a single female driver and fear the worst. Hope this car is not a disappointment. I had and loved
a Toyota RAV4 and was talked into buying this beauty. We'll see!

My wife experienced the same problem "transmission is not on P risk of rolling away". And I have to go to pick her up with another car. And as I get in the car and try, there is no more warning. And several days after, there is no more issue. So as you said, it should be the problem of door open or not completely shut off. Thanks a lot for all your info.

Sometimes the door latch can be faulty and this warning can show up even though the driver's door is closed.
This problem is explained in detail here:
