2003 C320 coupe/c450 in Feb 2016
i got my 7 years / 75000 miles warranty for 2000$
4 years prepaid maintenance for 1475$ from my MB dealer on Feb 28, 2016.
what i regret is getting the Ding Shield 5 years for 469$ (paint-less dent repair covering vertical and horizontal vehicle panels) which i probably never going to use.
dealer pre-installed Phantom Footprints for 99$ which i must take since they already installed it.
i dont really care how much they ripped me off on these services since i got a good deal on the car.
2016 c450 MSRP 62510, 8000$ off MSRP plus i asked for free wheel locks (MSRP 140$) when i took delivery of the car.

bought an extended Warranty from Marc Rose at W.I. Simonson: 800-784-9247
I've shopped around and Marc gave me the best deal on ELW on my 2015 GL350. Litterarily save me thousands $$. worth a call if you are considering an extended limited warranty

invoice/retail? I've had retail quotes for 2400-3600$ if you can believe that. I ended up just a nice steak diner and wine under 2K.

Just purchased from Mark Rose as well. As others have said this is a quick and easy process, although it did take a number of calls until I was able to get a hold of him. Was done in minutes.
That said, now that I see the coverage, is anyone else concerned about all the things that seem to be NOT covered? If I'm reading this right, basically anything in-cabin that isn't the radio/nav/AC isn't covered. Power/heated seats, power windows, locks, electronic shiftier and ebrake, Instrument Cluster, cruise/distronic/drivers Assistance package cameras, HUD, etc. Not sure if the 4matic stuff is covered, because I don't see transfer case or center diff (although diff is listed)
For the electrical systems I mentioned, there is this:
"AUDIO SYSTEMS: Head unit (Radio, AM/FM/Weatherband), Speakers, Audio
amplification system, CD player and changer installed by factory or authorized
Mercedes-Benz Dealer using approved components, electrical system and
instruments, fleetboard, navigation system."
So there is some non-specific language of electrical systems and instruments under Audio Systems, I'm guessing that would not include all I've mentioned above.
Compared to my previous manufacturer backed extended coverage (GM and Infiniti) this one is really poor if I'm reading it right.
Anyone else have different thoughts or understanding of what is/isn't covered?

I copied below what is covered based on what I read from the warranty pamphlet from MB on ELW. For exclusions, you can look in the actual warranty copy you get once you purchase it(I don't have one handy).

I have had the ELW warranty bought from the manu before on other mercedes and have had several of these items covered and service before under warranty. I've never had anything NOT covered during the warranty extension period actually
do you have a link to the documents?

uh, that sounds pretty odd. Usually the Mercedes ELW warranty is just an extension of the manu warranty. Where I believe pretty much everything other than consumables and W&T items should be covered.

And I've attached my actual agreement. As you can see, it is nowhere close to the factory Bumper to Bumper.

Reading it all, it DOES seem to cover pretty much all items, other than consumables and W&T items, like shocks, brakes, etc..
Probably even covers seals and boots, which could be considered W&T items.
I would think that the transmissions and axles, which would have to cover the diffs, would cover the 4MATIC systems (and frankly as a solid component of the drive train for such a car would IMHO have to be covered)
What are you seeing that isn't covered that concerns you the most?
Personally, I have had lighting clusters and enclosures, lighting cable harnesses, seat belt bases, Fan switches, side blinker stalks, speedometers, fuel pumps, alternators, radiator hoses, wheel bearings, door locks and keys all replaced in an ELW situation before.
Not many of those items are listed in these lists.

I see you were getting some of that replaced, wonder if they are just more generous when enforcing the contract or if the contract has changed over time.

I picked up my C450 on Friday and purchased a 7 year/75K ELW today. I called every finance manager on the various threads discussing ELW and ended up getting a better deal through Eugene Matusov at MB of Marietta. The process was quick and easy and he said he would love to sell anyone on these boards an ELW. Try him at MatusovE@autonation.com or 678-932-5041.

ELW - Marc Rose
Hi,
Is he reliable? I seem to have problem connecting to him. Not too responsive.
Also how much does it cost you for 2 year / 100K ELW?
Did you also get the prepaid maintenance?
Any information / tips will be helpful & greatly appreciated.
thanks

Waranty & Prepaid Maintenance - Help & Advice!!
Hi Everyone MB owners,
I am interested in both "6 year / 100K ELW" & "Prepaid maintenance 4 year / 40K". Any ideas on their estimated costs?
I am in East coast Boston area, should I stick to local dealers to get these warranties, any differences?
I read a lot good stuff about his Marc Rose, is he reliable? I seem to have problem connecting to him. Not too responsive.
Perhaps anyone know any other good & reliable sources / dealerships so I can contact them for quote comparison?
Any information / tips will be helpful & greatly appreciated.
thank you all in advance!
Emma

I paid $998 for three years on my 2015 C300 Sport, then after trading it in for my current 2016 C450, I cancelled the policy and got 2/3 of my money back...after only 1 year of coverage.
I decided not to get wheel/tire on my C450 since I own two full sets of wheels/tires for it (Winter/Summer). I figure on a long trip I'll just throw a front wheel from the spare set in the trunk.
