Has anyone actually been able to record the level of noise and put it on youtube for us to hear? What might be hardly anything to some could be maddening to another. I can hear wind at over 70 mph but it doesn't sound like its loud. Its certainly quieter than our other two cars.

No Wind noises

Definately no wind noises in my car.. And I'm one fussy owner. Took delivery yesterday and drove two hours home 115km/h and whisper quiet.

Hope yours stays quiet. Mine started that way. After a few cycles here in southern US are where temps swing from rainy 45 to sunny 90 in a day as normal, mine developed the sound after a couple weeks. Hasn't gotten worse mind you. But not tolerable. MBUSA still says it's 'normal' to have a lot of wind noise. Wonder how they'd explain your new quiet one and mine which sounds like the window is cracked down or door not shut all the time?

After 6 months, I still have very minimal wind noise in my C300. I was out yesterday, and hit speeds of 85 mph with no unusual wind noise at all. I asked my wife, who was in the passenger's seat, if she heard any wind noise and she said not at all. I've mentioned this before, but only severe crosswinds can be heard ... in normal driving conditions the car is quiet.

I'm still running with snow tires, and the hum of those tires is the loudest sound in the car.

I've driven three other C-Class cars and, although some were quieter than others, none were particularly objectionable. I have not been in one that had the level of wind noise being reported here.

If there is a design defect, I would think it's that the fit of some component is overly critical. If put together properly, these cars are fairly quiet and should not exhibit severe wind noise. Since the dealers have been unable to resolve this issue for those suffering with it, has anyone tried taking their car to a private body shop to see if they can find and fix the source of the wind noise? In the past, I have had local shops fix problems that dealers said couldn't be fixed.

It is NOT normal. Too many of these cars exhibit no unusual wind noise for anyone to consider this a normal condition. With MB-USA, ask for a Case Manager and tell them you want this defect fixed under warranty ... or paid for by them if you have to take it to a non-MB shop to have it repaired. No car, regardless of price, should have the noise levels you are reporting.

I don't have wind noise as described, but downloaded a decibel meter app for my iPhone 6. I know its not scientific but nevertheless, I wanted to measure ambient noise on my cars to compare my MB to my BMW's. If others did the same and posted results it may be of interest.

There's quite a few decibel meter apps - would possibly be helpful if people posted which app they used or if you post which app you are using so there is one less variable in the mix

Ok.I'm downloading now and will post results tomorrow. Do you want to start a new thread where people can post their results? Also would be great if people who don't have a wind noise problem (lol) could post as well to give a baseline.

I notice wind noise, top of the drivers door. Nothing terrible, but it's definitely there. I had a quick look today and couldn't see anything wrong with any of the trim or door seal.

I have a C400 here in Canada and the loud noise was the first thing I noticed on my drive home after delivery at the dealer. I'm going to try to move the door striker inboard to see if I can get the door to close tighter....

I just got car back and MBUSA coordinated with dealer to under warranty change the front doors weatherstrips and both window runs. Your experience may be different. It's the same parts, but I noted significant improvement. US folks may want to get dealers to try the same in absence of any other fix possible. Eventually the dealer believes a modified door seal will come. New model...could take a while. I'm pleased in meanwhile with these attempts and the very good improvement they made for me...worth a try.

Great news! Mine is very quiet at speeds up to 80 MPH +, hopefully it stays that way.

I had the same done and yes it does make an improvement...unfortunately for me I was looking for the wind noise to be eliminated...and that's not the case. The wind sound/noise just isn't as bad as it was...

I definitely have a slight buffeting sound sound coming from the window/door area at highway speeds. For those who had the weatherstrips replace, how long was the downtime?

About 3.5 hours to do the job, after all parts ordered and arrived.

That's certainly a bit of encouragement. I wonder though, if one had the seals and channels replaced with the current versions then MB came out with updated ones, would they be willing to replace them again? In other words do we get two bites at the apple?

I have the same concerns with the screeching brake issue. They replaced my rotors and pads while they work on developing a solution. My brakes sound better for now, but I hope I can get the eventual official fix when it is developed.

I'd think they would if an update or fix comes, but it might be like the W204 with mirrors, the fix wasn't under warranty either way, each owner could shell out the money or live with it.

If you don't have a laundry list of 'concerns' and you're loyal to your dealer for sales and service, I'd hope they'd go to bat for you.

Thank you very much for your update floridadriver. I also saw how outstanding your weather is this weekend. (I'm Jealous)

I called my dealer today, and said the door and window runs must be replaced on my car as well. He knows we've been trying other 'things'. He said he'd order the parts Monday. He said if a new seal came out, he would ensure I got it as well for free. He off the record agrees there's a problem, but his hands are tied by MB-USA who directed them to say no issue is known.
