Unfortunately, that is not what happens. When you select Sport, the dealer has a further option to choose 485 comfort or 486 Sport suspension, and the system takes those orders with 485 incorrectly selected. And it looks like a fair number of cars have been ordered incorrectly based on casual observation of pictures confirmed by data card lookup of the VINs.
Then there has to be a software error in the order entry system, since this isn't supposed to be an allowable configuration. You'd think that could be fixed in ... what ... maybe an hour?
Is the difference between the two (sport vs comfort) just the springs and or shocks?
Wondering if it is possible to just match up part numbers this would determine it.
My c300 is also showing 485 comfort
Definitely experience more body roll than I would have thought so will be interesting to see what comes out of this.
One interesting thing that I noticed is on the window sticker, under the Sport package there is no mention of the suspension, just the interior and exterior changes.
Add me to the list of soon to be pissed off customers. My dealer just notified me that my car which was ordered in January was on its way. I ordered the Sport package expecting Sport suspension but checkout my build sheet. It specifically lists 485 - Comfort suspension for Elegance
The original sheet I got when I ordered the car made no mention of suspension, now it does and am not happy.
The picture of the white one from cars.com is actually my old c class. I ended up trading in my c class for one that had the actual sport suspension which is what I had ordered in the first place. My window sticker said that I had the sport suspension but the build list and ride quality suggested otherwise.
I will keep you informed regarding lowering springs, I am currently waiting for a 15mm lowering kit for our car, and they also make a 30mm kit too, but I am preferring to use the 15mm since my wife will drive the C300 daily.
Attached is a picture showing our car with a C400 with the 19 inch AMG wheels, keep in mind that changing the wheels and the offset will fill out the fenders, so the gap can be greatly reduced by the wheels as well.
If any of you are considering changing wheels, we used our same tires and went from the 7.5x19 to an 8.5x19 in the front and the rear from a 8.5x19 to a 9.5x19. The wheel offset is a bit more aggressive too, but it really filled out the fender a bit and reduced the gap.
If you plan to stick with the stock AMG package whether 18 or 19, lowering springs will be a reasonable option. I hope this info is useful.
The dealer confirmed that the suspension was definitely the comfort suspension. I went ahead and traded my car in for another c300. I didn't want to wait any longer to get a car built so I got a car with a little more options than the last car.
My salesperson helped me through the whole process and was very helpful.
I now have a proper c300 sport. New car definitely rides stiffer but it has more road feel also and corners very flat. It also has a little more wind noise than the original car. Hopefully MB comes up with a fix for that.
So it took lots of work but I finally ended up with the car that I originally thought I ordered. Happy camper now.

Glad you're happy with the new car. I refused mine without even seeing it as soon as my CA confirmed the car was built with the comfort suspension. I have since re-ordered but have to wait till late May.
Thank you guys for opening my eyes to this problem. I have the Sport package/Comfort suspension combo and I just assumed all W205s sit high unless you opted for Air Matic. I installed a set of Vogtland springs to improve the look but the car rides like absolute garbage. I'm planning on putting the OEM springs back on this weekend and in the meantime I've placed a call to my salesman to ask him to look into a proper solution.

do you mind if i ask..are you leasing the car (w/ comfort suspension)or you bought it.. trading your car with another car less than 1 year can lose a lot of $$$..

I bought the car. Mercedes worked with the dealer and they took care of the depreciation and stuff. So I just traded it in for what I paid for it. It was mostly my salesperson and the dealer... Great experience.

After driving both a comfort and sport 2016 C300, we picked up a 4MATIC Sport and can comment on a few things:
- The difference in feel for sport and comfort is nearly undetectable. Best I can say is that the sport feels slightly firmer. However, its not what I feel is a true sport suspension. The dampers are too soft even for the relatively mild spring rate used. The CLA250 I had before had much firmer dampers that produced a firm but reasonably comfortable ride, well until hitting a big bump that would bottom out the limited wheel travel.
- With the sport suspension, the distance from the fender lip to the ground is about 27 3/8" front and rear. This seems to jive well with the 28" height the comfort suspension people are reporting and the claimed 0.6" drop for the sport suspension. I could easily do with another 0.5" drop to produce a more sporty look.
- People are suggesting that the 19" wheels will fill the gap better. I doubt that's the case because manufacturers have to maintain the same tire height to keep the speedo accurate. I don't have the tire specs for the 19" wheels, but the 17" wheels use 225/50-17s that have a 25.9" height while the AMG 18" wheels use a 225/45-18 front and a 245/40-18 rear that have 25.9" and 25.7" tall tires, respectively. I imagine that the 19" wheels use 225/40s in the front and 245/35s in the rear.
