Car Turned Itself Off
Car: C300 4MATIC; have only used premium gas; had in excess of a half tank (just filled that morning). Car was in ECO mode.
Environment: 88 degrees; sun was shinning, a little muggy. A/C was off
Situation: Cold start. Just pulled out of the parking garage at work. Traveled two or three blocks and stopped for a red light. Started, and drove one block to the second light. Stopped at light, applied pressure for HOLD function. The cars start/stop kicked in. Suddenly, I felt a quick vibration and then the all of the idiot lights went on. I don't recall if I was now in park/drive. I remember pushing the start/stop button a couple of times to restart the car. Drove slowly (traffic) one or two blocks to the next red light.
Same darn thing happened. This time, I noticed I was in neutral. Restarted the car. I turned off (disabled) the auto-start/stop button and had no issues the rest of the drive home (20 miles). I didn't have any more red lights before the highway on ramp - although some slow traffic.
Take it to dealer for checkout?
I'd suggest you take it in ASAP. My car had been in the shop for diagnosis for 2 weeks. They said they replaced something to some wires and got Germany to work on it at the same time. The dealer is in Richmond, Vancouver, Canada. Just make sure you tell your service advisor to get in touch with my dealership and also report to Germany about this. Germany is aware of this issue now.
Where are you located?

Service looked at the car for an hour. Said they saw a number of error codes they were not familiar with -- and gave me a loaner car. Another c300 W4 -- without driver assist package. Already miss the DAP!
Mentioned to the service rep that others have seen this problem -- referred to posts below. Specifically, that Germany knows about an issue. Of course, he "only believes what he sees not what he reads." That's fine to some extent. I dont want my car to be a science experiment.

Mine had been sitting in my home garage for 2 days and today it shutoff again after driving for 3 km at a red night. It had been driven for 300km since it came back from service. Whatever they did was not the cure.
I am going to take it back next Monday.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
forum instead.
Anyway, sorry and I will not post it here again
I'll pick up the car in the morning. This is my first Benz -- and am unaware if the manifest from the dealer will show the error codes (which you were interested in knowing). If so, I'll provide them to you.
I forgot to tell you -- the stall happened on the way to my dealer when I was dropping off the car last Saturday. LOL.
How did your second round of servicing for the problem go?

Thanks for getting back to me. I haven't taken the car to the dealer after that last incident yet. I was out of town for a few days. It's a great news that they found the problem, and changed the part this quick.
I am going to tell the dealer to look into
the AUX transmission pump, I am not sure if they had already replaced it during the first and second visits. I will definitely ask.
Since I was told there were no error codes shown on their end, I'd love to know the error codes and what your dealer (NJ, New York? What's the name of the dealership please) and Germany had to do on the car.
If you don't mind telling me the codes and other info in detail which would assist my dealer to get it fixed properly would be appreciated.
This w205 is my 3rd MB, I ask myself why
I am doing all this investigation myself, shouldn't the MB engineers or QC have done this during the assembly stage. This is really unacceptable to a customer.
Anyway, thanks in advance.

My c400 experienced this yesterday for the first time after 8 months. it was a rainy night at 10 degree celcius. Car drove out about 1km away from home and stalled me when I depressed brake, all checking lights came on.
Glad it happened inside a plaza at 10pm and not on traffic. At least when this happened I was not surprised because I've seen this post before and I have calmly taken a video of it while it happened. All I had to do is to turn off the power and push to start the car again. No problems for another 50km after yesterday.
I'm going to the dealer next week for replacing my tires, fixing my LED handles and realign my steering wheels. I will show the video to the service advisor and ask him if my car needs some attention to that.

Since the repair in late June, no issues.
I wonder if this problem has been communicated to all their service networks yet.
2015 C300 4matic - had the car for only 5 months, around 1906 miles.
Left house driving for few mins in Comfort mode , going 45mph- the engine light came on, then notice engine is dead, car just rolling, then all the warning lights came on, then off. Luckily not many cars on this road at this time and I pull to the side safely. The transmission is still in 'D' when engine stalled. I put it to parked, open the car door, close door, push button to restart car. Car restarts but now the check engine is always lit.
I brought it to the dealer Fri noon time and all service advisors was at lunch. I dropped off the car with no paperwork and they say they will call back around 1:30pm. well, they didnt. I called them back at 2:30. They say they wont be able to look at the car til next Monday!!!
This is my first MB, was with Lexus and Acura. I'm just disappointed that MB, a new car with so low miles can have this experience, NOT to mention it is a dangerous situation.
I'm sure dealer wont say much, just check erro code, update ECU or just fix the check engine light.
ah...
