Your work looks great!! Hopefully the mods don't fry your electrical system or cause problems. MB can be real stinkers with warranty repairs if it does.
I admire your courage to do that ! You're brave. I'd never touch the wiring systems of this car. It seems there are too many wires hanging around especially with all the electronics and controls around this beauty. Well done mate !!

Thank you. But contrary to most of what people think, I didn't modify the car's wiring system at all. For one thing, it's a jungle and I don't have enough knowledge to touch it without accidentally messing something up. All I did was changing the headlight assembly's wiring to match with the headlight connector from the car. Basically, make the led headlights wired like a halogen one. This way, it's reversible and doesn't void the warranty. I could take them out and put the halogen lights back any time and the car will still be as good as the way it was sold.
its very simple to chage lights...but i suggest you to change fot ILS lights...u can buy it from Russia, Moscow, not expensive))
furthemore, actually, im on the way to chage LED to ILS. so, maybe i can sell my LED if somebody needs))

It is? If you don't mind, can you show us the steps? A lot of people here will appreciate it. I, for one, will appreciate it as I want to do it the official way.

Going thru another surgery. The bulbs kept burning out and vapor kept building up. While at it, I'm gonna paint the orange reflector silver too.
Although it doesn't look it, knowing what I've done to the car, I'm beginnings to see my car like a Frankenstein W205 :-)
#1) Great admiration for your willingness to dig into the car to get it the way you want it. This and the work you did in the upgraded screen and infotainment system.
#2) So glad I checked the little box next to "Lighting Package" on the build for my '16.
Although I did just spend $4,000 upgrading the audio system, so I didn't get away scott-free either.

Heheh. Good for you. I'm still paying for my sins (for being cheap). But $4k for the audio system is a little steep for me. I paid $400 for the Focal and declared mission accomplished

Oh believe me, it didn't START as a $4k upgrade. It just got away from me a little. Sometimes it's in for a penny in for a pound. It does sound like it was worth the money though.
How does it compare to buying the options on the car and negotiating on price is cheaper at a certain point?
Is the car still covered under warranty with all of these alterations?
If I have to count, the cost is actually a lot less. But that wasn't why I went this route. I hastily bought the car without knowing much about the options and now, instead of *****ing and moaning of shouldhaves couldhaves, I'm just making up for my shortcomings.
Don't feel bad. I once bought an S Class without the AMG Sport appearance package and got so tired of looking at it I pieced an OEM salvage body kit and wheels off EBay and had a shop install it all and paint it. Gotta do what makes you happy.
I had the same problem where I originally bought a black model without LED lights or Burmester thinking I wouldn't care but over time I did. So 7 months later I traded for a used CPO with all the options I wanted. This was a much cheaper route because due to depreciation even a car with more options than my base model isn't actually worth much more. In the end I spent a little more than $1600 extra and trading in my old car.
My old car was a black base model with no LED, no Burmester. My new one is a white sport trim with LED lights, Burmester, and multimedia Nav package.
You are only taxed on the difference when trading in. But I had an ongoing communication with my dealer for months and he kept an eye out for me. My car was the general manager's car before that.

How is it taxed only the difference? When you're trading in, you're basically buying another one and you'll have to pay tax on that. That's at least 3k. And the stealer for sure wouldn't value your car the same, even if the two are identical

You're not taxed on the price of the new car. You're taxed on the spread between the price of the new car and the trade. You've already paid sales tax on the trade when you bought it.
So if the new car was $40k and they gave you $30k for the trade, you're taxed on $10k. At a 6% state sales tax that's $600 (or whatever your state's tax rate is).

Same here in Ontario Canada, which many times make private sale less attractive in comparison.
Yeah you always have to consider the dealers wholesale offer on the trade in light of the sales tax spread vs a private sale. Usually it's a wash or so close to it it's not worth the hassle of a private sale.
