AMG Style Door Pins
I bought a set off the AMG style door pins as I didn't like the cheap looking plastic ones that the car came with. I tried unscrewing the old ones but couldn't get them to budge, and I don't want to force them incase I break or damage something.
Does anyone know how to safely remove the plastic pins? Do I need a padded pair of vice grips to crack the glue holding it in place? Or do I just need to gain some more muscle?... lol

They unscrew, they are screwed pretty good (by robots I assume), I got a set of AMG ones from ebay for my CLA, same grey ugly plastic ones had to go.

theres no glue in them. they are just tightened well, use regular pliers and a reg or a sock .. the rear ones are tricky as the door blades have to be removed for the pins to be replaced

We're you able to actually screw them off? I have had people tell me that the door panel has to be removed to take the pins off.... Don't a want all that trouble just to change pins...

It was pretty easy to remove and install the new door pins. Pair of needle nose pliers and a sock easily and safely did the trick
Not sure that the pics do them justice, but they look fantastic on!

MB W204, VW Polo, Audi R8 V10 - SOLD.
Was that for both front and back? So no panel removal for the rear pins?
Edit: I just read the last few posts and it looks like it is just a screw off/on job. Thanks for the pictures.

Looks nice man congrats, But i hate the look of the FAKE AMG pins, theyre too shiny and chrome. The real ones look more brushed aluminum, theyre very similar but its not as shiny

No need to remove any door panels... Simply unscrew pins (front and Back). Pins are the same front and back. Very simple to do and will only require around 15mins
Only difference I found was that the new AMG style pins were about 5mm smaller than the original ones. It didn't seem to make any difference for functionality, but aesthetically I think it looks a bit better as they don't stick up as much...
I bought the AMG pins from eBay for around $130 (AUD)

I tried with reasonable amount of force but it wouldn't move. I'm a bit worried that I may break it...

They turned in an anti-clockwise direction and are on pretty tight, but with my trusty pair of long nose pliers and "sock" I manged to budge them without damage to the originals. Maybe try the others first as I found 2 out of the four I was able to turn them without using the pliers....

I just bought the door pins and they are great. I removed them using a wrench and a small towel. That allowed me to remove them without damaging anything. Just unscrew counter-clockwise. There was no need to remove door panels.
