This feature is off by default, you have to hit the button on the steering wheel to enable it when you're on the freeway. With the feature disabled, the car will still actively return you to your lane if you start crossing a line without your turn signal activated, it simply won't steer for you or keep you centered.
This is the video, if you're interested (for TLX, but same system as MDX):
Yea I kept it under 4000rpm, one time I might have went around 6000, when I needed to pass someone lol, and only used comfort, I noticed a big change when I used sport + for the first day, I love the exhaust note
I can understand keeping the regime below 4000 but will never be able to use comfort mode only... I know I'll be tempted to switch to devil mode from day 1 ;-))
I have driven 17 miles so far mostly in 35-45 mph zones. I drive in Comfort; I don't think I've gone over 2000rpms. ha ha.
Anyhow, the ride in comfort is stiffer than I expected. I'll be driving in Sport + though, but it's nice to know comfort can be enjoyable.
I didn't get NAV, but I am quite satisfied with the Burmester sound system as well as the ability to play songs via USB flash drive, bluetooth, and SD card.
The only thing I don't like is that I don't think you can search other songs on the playlist while you have it playing one song off a USB Drive (or maybe I don't know how to do it properly).
Did any of you guys dbadge the C450 and the side emblems? They don't look as bad on as I thought they would. It adds differentiation to the car in my opinion.
I plan on driving to San Antonio-Austin-Houston next week. I'll post a longer review then of my highway driving impressions.
This is exactly how the c450 does it. If you would like I can record a video and post it on the site.
I don't think the C450 or any mercedes for that matter will actually steer around curves? It will pull the driver back into the lane or correct if the driver attempts to move into a lane where another car is present, but steer - ala tesla autopilot? Haven't seen that one

It absolutely does. I use it all the time. Will video and post it to the site today or tomorrow.
Guys - Just got my build sheet for my C450 ordered in Canada. I am confused as to why it says Harman Kardon Logic 7 as a factory option when I have the premium package that includes Burmester:

Your sheet shows 810 which is the Burmeister but here in the US we have to add the Premium Package to add the Burmeister which includes leather interior(you don't have) but maybe a crazy Canuck can chime in eh.

Yes, it will steer around "gentle" curves (gentle according to Mercedes).

If you're talking about lane keeping asssit through curves on a marked road, then yes, it will certainly do that - so no video is necessary.. but steering around corners I have not seen yet, with exception of the autonomous demo in an s-class I've done around the block ;-)

I took delivery of my car a few weeks now. On my sheet, it also says HarmonKardon Logic7, but the car has the awesome Burmester system, so don't worry
Fully agree it is what I said somehow. I have the cruise control on my current Audi and it is fun the few first times but I only used it 4 or 5 times in 5 years. Lane assist however can be useful in long trips and it saved few lives of people I know.
But all of these techno features are not my cup of coffee, I prefer real driving feel especially with such a car.
I don't really understand how lane assist works, but I know that those little white lines are all over the place and I don't need my car beeping me off or trying to stop me every time I give room to a cyclist without signalling to nobody. Would be turned off asap.
I've read in a lot of places that the C450 comes with an AMG Speedshift Plus transmission. I am confused by that - isn't AMG Speedshift the Multi-Clutch Tranny that the full blown AMG's use? The C450 certainly has a torque converter...
I know the C450 tranny was programmed for faster shifts, but it is still 7G-Tronic Plus, right?
Question: for break in are you guys driving in C program or E program? Manual says E for non AMG cars and C for true AMG. The dealer just told me to stay under 4,000 rpm for 1,000 miles.
I drove my C400 for around 30k miles, driving hard when I needed too. Doing the same with the C450, I think in this day and age there's not much to worry about. Just my 2 cents.

I use my own break in system. It is more agressive than MB recommends but I have never had a problem in more than 20 new cars I have purchased.I stay under 4000 rpm for the first 250 miles after which I increase my rpm's in short bursts. At about 700 miles I try a few full throttle starts. I do not drive at a constant highway speed until I have about 500 miles on it.This method has always given me a car that does not burn oil,is faster than the average of that model, gives better than the manufacturer's claim for gas mileage, and has never caused an engine or driveline problem.I also experimented with all of the driving mode options including the "individual".I believe in trying all functions in a new car as soon as possible. If it was put together correctly nothing should break.

As far as I know the AMG speedshift + transmission is programmed by AMG for more sporty/quick management but it is not the dual clutch you find on C63s.

I tried but ultimately didn't come anywhere close to following the instructions. Just didn't have it in me...
Car seems fine and has definitely improved anyways

C450 transmission shifts very quickly, noticeably quicker than the c300/c400, but it does not use a clutch. The C63s is not a dual clutch gearbox either, I believe it's mono clutch. I drove the 63s and 450 cars back to back several times and the difference is extremely slight when moving; main difference is you can't launch the c450 anywhere near as agressively.
i thinking of buying the AMG badge and stick it on the rear, good idea ?
isnt this a C450 amg ?
without the amg badge, cars that is a few car away might think i'm driving a C300 . haha
