Lol, I post a picture of my invoice and people still call bullsh*t? This forum is truly special. I guess I should be more pleased with myself for the deal I negotiated than I thought....it's literally unbelievable, I guess.

this is nearly the same discount I received back in November (13%), so I'm not sure it's related to a coming model naming change - or feature change.

Flap, hiss, repeat. Manhood.

What is questionable is veracity.

Two good ole boys pissing off a bridge: first one says, "My, this water sure is cold." The second one says, "Yeah, and the bottom sure is sandy."

Of late, Ohio appears populated by the delusional.

So local 3M guy telling me 300 CAD for the tint work, and he doesn't need to take the doors apart. I know little about tinting and less about MB. This sound ok?

Curious why one guy wants to disassemble the doors and another doesn't care.

Now that that's out of the way, to the guy who was asking, this is the first car negotiation I've ever done myself as well (every other car I've owned my dad purchased for me while I was either in high school or college). I've had some experience negotiating real estate deals and in my other work, and I'm good at it (have studied the theory, etc), but I'm no Donald Trump. I'm by no means an expert and have no real secrets to give, outside of the obvious. To get the 12.8% off I more or less just got lucky, I guess. Don't sell yourself short because this is your first time, go in expecting the world and don't leave until you're happy. Let them know you don't just want to buy a car, you want to build a relationship for the future and make sure you build a connection while you're on the test drive. The more they like you, the more they don't want you to just walk out the door -- for example, since Maritime is an absolutely intolerable human, I'm going to assume he got $0 off because no one can stand to be around him, the dealer included. If he got any discount at all, it's probably because the dealer decided it was worth to just give him a small discount to get him to leave the dealership and get closer to a time when he didn't have to see or talk to him anymore. So, when you're on your test drive and negotiating, think in the back of your mind "Don't be like Maritime, don't be like Maritime, don't be like Maritime". Good luck.
Thanks inhartwetrust. Some of these people are insufferable. When I see their names, I don't even read the post.

After a couple of test drives, I've been negotiating through the internet with multiple dealerships and have gotten a quote almost exactly like yours (document fees are more here). Good to know that I'm looking at a decent number.

I finally took possession of my 450 a few days ago- and absolutely lovin it!
I'm sure I'll be posting more questions/comments/etc as I drive it more.

But one thing I just wanted to mention was that I remembered reading something here within the last couple of months from someone who had mentioned that it took quite awhile for the car to connect to their phone via bluetooth from startup (phone connectivity as well as for streaming music) and a couple of people may have agreed with that statement as well...

So I had unfortunately been preparing myself for that since I had read it - but to my surprise, both bluetooth music, and the phone functionality, I'm finding it to be pretty much instantaneous after the car starts up and the AMG logo comes on and goes off.

Anyway, I also wanted to thank everyone on this board who has contributed. Can't tell you enough how helpful it's been!

Cheers.

Congratulations! I've been lurking for a while since I placed my order in January, reading all the comments about the C450. I can imagine how you feel. I'm only days away now from delivery (supposed to be delivered to the dealer on Mar. 27th, but I haven't heard from them). The last stretch of waiting is the worst!

What's the $2000 rebate for?

Because compulsory car insurance is required in my state, and is usually required by the bank if you carry a lien.

I also pay extra for optional insurance so I don't lose my house in case of a serious accident.

Ditto, thanks for the info and advice. Hoping to secure something similar when it comes time to negotiate the lease.

i'm talking about getting "full coverage" car insurance like Comprehensive.
why even get full coverage if you really that good a driver. haha
carry a lien? this is a no brainer, if i'm really that good a driver i would max up all my credit cards to pay off the car so i dont need to get comprehensive on car insurance and cut my car insurance premium in half .

Atta boy, sounds like you've got a lead on a good deal.

I had initially planned to lease it, but now that I've put a little more thought into it (and contemplated the impact of the discount) I am leaning more towards purchasing it considering I have ~ $8.5K of the depreciation covered with the discount. Depending on what interest rates are from MBFS, I may just finance over 5 years and still look to sell it after ~3. COA is almost guaranteed to be cheaper this way.

Ah, I see. I didn't even know I got a Fleet discount at all until I showed up to the dealership that day and they asked me where I worked. When I told them, they said "Oh, the [head of the dealerships] wife works there, she is your Corporate Counsel...you will get $2k off for working there." Was a nice surprise to kick things off.

Well, after 3 months and 10 days my C450 has arrived at the dealership. About to get out of work and go take a peek at her. Get to drive it home either Thursday or Friday!

Not surprising to get a good discount on an outgoing model with lots of inventory left. I got a little over 10% discount in February on my C450. 55,600 msrp 49,900 purchase price. It had far fewer options to absorb the discount. Dealer had over 80 C450's on the lot at the time. They are down to 53 on the lot. Options have big markups and opportunity for discounts.

Mine was a custom order, but I agree that taking them off the lot for cheap should be very easy for the next few months.

That's insane to have 80 on the lot, wow. My dealer had maybe 5 or 8.

I dunno man but it's a sweet looking build and everything you negotiated looks perfect. Can't wait to see it.

I'm just lucky to be in a big market. I have a choice of 3 dealerships with well over 1000 vehicles in inventory at each.

Well done sir. $2K from factory and $6K+ from dealer. I think that's below invoice.

In Canada, dealer make around $7K ($5K USD) on a fully loaded C450, that's every option checked without any manufacturer kick back.

Run away from any tint place that remove door to tint. Run away fast!

Factory rebate for cash purchase. I assume it applies in US as well. That's the promo here in Canada for March.

I saw the order sheet and there may be another 25-30 coming until end of June to my dealership and that's it. There may be 5-6 left on the lot but with crappy options on them. Since mine is also a custom order, needed to act fast to take up one of those slot and we get stuck with whatever the dealership think it'll move until C43 shows up.
