Accessory Mode

How do you exit the accessory mode? When I turn on the accessory mode and get out of the car the accessory mode stays on.I have been starting the car and then getting out,but this seems like there should be a better way

High Beam with Lighting Package

So, I guess the question would be, how do the brights work with the LED lights that are part of P2 (without the lighting package). Can anyone help us with that?
In a year of experience with my C400 with the Lighting Package I never had an oncoming driver signal annoyance with my lights. I got the lighting package on my C450 as well. My initial issue with it is that, when the lights on in the auto "A" setting, the only way to override the system to get a high beam is to pull back and hold the stalk to the flash setting. It's OK, you get used to it. 99% of the time, the system has it right.

I have it. It's all black, no stitching in other colors. And my interior is black leather with red stitching so I would guess that the steering wheel is independent of the interior.

That is actually not a light package feature, my ML works the same way in auto (without the light package).

I confirmed that without the light package, you don't get the "moving" lights or the automatic high beams. You do get projection LED lights (same as with the light package), but they are only low beams, the high beams are reflective LED (which are closer to halogen).

Anyone know what the cost of these wheels would be to order after purchase of the car? Mine has the standard 18s, and I really want to upgrade to the 19s. What would be the wheel and tire cost?

Thanks. No it is not indépendant. I could read the official MB documentation at the vendor and it says the AMG wheel had stitches inline with the interior.
Moreover in the configuration when I select AMG wheel with black leather seats it comes with red stitches. So I'm a bit puzzled now...

You can get those amg 19" on eBay from a Benz dealer. The tires. It depends run flats 19" expensive but if you went Michelin pss a set is $1247 with the certificates mounted. For 225/40/19 255/35/19. I just priced some out.

Hello, new owner of a C450. ex owner of an 2013 Audi S5 which I loved but I love more this car. I haven't push the car due to only having 254 miles but its awesome. I cant wait each day to have an opportunity to use this car. I went to get my wife an GL 450 and ended up getting the GL 450 and the C450. MB got me out of my Leased Audi s5 and of our Lexus 350 SUV. Awesome cars both of them from MB.

Welcome!

I'm with you on the can't wait to drive it each day... I work from home, so I am constantly coming up with new reasons to take a ride. The first couple times I told my wife I was going out for a ride, she asked me why... she doesn't ask why any more

Congratulations on the new rides, did they actually have both on their lot?

yes. we went only for the gl 450 as the family is getting bigger and the 2 rows Rx 350 was getting small but when we were leaving my wife asked the dealer if they had any cars for me (4 door with nice HP) and they showed me the c450 and we both fell in love with the freaking car. drove the gl 450 home and the c450 the next day because I had to sleep on it on getting two new cars, lol.

somehow, this always concerns me.. they put in titles that say "amg SYTLE" wheels, that look like the AMG wheels but may clearly not be?

Just did my first wash, clay bar, and wax on my c450 today and I realized a couple things about the car and want some fellow owners to verify.

1. Our rear windshield does not have a weather lining around its perimeter.

2. Not sure if my car was made in a hurry but it seems though my driver side door does not sit as flush as my passenger side doors.

3. My passenger side front fender has a larger gap between it and the bumper than my driver side.

4. The panels (including the hood) feels paper thin and bends with moderate pressure.

Everything else is great about the car but I feel that MB has been skimping on materials on their cars ever since they started producing them in the US...or is it just me? I had a feeling this is the case since the last few times when I encountered 2010-2015 E-classes in accidents on the highway and see that MB cars get crushed like soda cans when they hit someone even when there was barely any damage on the other vehicle.

No, you won't see a weather seal around the rear windshield. But it is sealed quite nicely.

As to your questions 2 and 3, if you think there's an issue, show them to your dealer.

And finally, I don't know where you got the idea MB cars get crushed like soda cans, but the test data suggests MB cars hold up quite well, in fact better than quite well in crash tests. The cars are designed to crumple on the outside. It's the internal cage that matters and your car is quite nicely reinforced.

You might want to watch this video.

I am referring to the external being made weaker than Older MB models. The hood and fenders just feels paper thin

That is not unique to Mercedes. With the emphasis on saving weight, and steel being replaced (mostly) by aluminum, nearly all cars are like that these days. Don't worry, there's nothing wrong with your car

You're right. But then you have to have a trade-off. If you want your MB to be made out of heavier exterior panels, it's going to weigh a lot more. In order to get better gas mileage, you have to trim weight. And if the panels weigh more, the engine will have to have significantly more horsepower, increasing cost, weight and fuel consumption.

This is the way all cars are being manufactured in today's world. The exterior panels are less heavy, but the internal cages are stronger. The net is, you're likely far safer in an accident, but the car won't look as nice on the outside. I'll take living through a crash over the car looking prettier after being hit.

I think this is MB of Atlanta.I think this is the 19" wheel for the c400 which has a different offset. I would just call their parts department to see if they have an auction for the correct offset. Just give them your VIN to match it up right. Also this price could be the same as you just going to some local dealer.

I have the wheel and red stitching on the seats I can confirm no red stitching on the wheel. I posted a pic a while back in this forum. Part of the reason I wanted to do a community website

So the optional $500 AMG steering wheel is all black but the regular steering wheel on the C450 has red contrast stitching ?

I have no idea why your wheels are all black.
I checked with MB the official documentation of the C450 and it was clear the AMG wheel takes the same secondary colour as the seats. Normally you should have red stitching and red 12 o clock too.

Also if you do the same config in the website you can see red stitching.

I try to attach a picture.
