Is anyone able to send and receive text messages through the Command centre? If so, how did you do it? My C300 doesn't notify me when new texts arrive on my iPhone 6. Also, how do you guys send text message via voice command? And also, are you able to send texts via voice command while driving? Thanks!
You can only receive text on the Command Centre. You have to go into the Settings, Bluetooth "MB Bluetooth" click on the Info icon & make sure "Show Notification" is set to "on", now disconnect to bluetooth & then reconnect the iPhone. Now you should hear bong when you receive a text message & also get an envelope at top of the Command Centre to indicate you have a received a message.
I & a lot others have also had lots of trouble getting this to work.
Hope this helps.

You can send a text message already if the phone is paired and you simply hold down the phone home button. Siri will read out over bluetooth just like it would on the phone. The only caveat is that you have to hold the button on the phone just as if you were using the phone to activate siri.
I use Siri. And if you keep the iPhone plugged in then you don't need to hold down the home button to start Siri, you just say "hey Siri".
The Siri voice control is so amazingly more advanced than any car voice/Nav system. It can read my texts, I can dictate texts, emails, tell it to navigate, give me the weather forecast, etc.
Honestly paying for car multimedia packages is the dumbest thing you can do nowadays cause phones are so much more advanced with far better designed user interaction. and, you probably already have it in your pocket right now.

Exactly why I didn't go for the COMAND system, or mbrace features. Everything they offer is in my phone, or can be done via a very cheap accessory (Automatic)
You can't. Mercedes Benz doesn't want you texting and driving.
Are you sure you cannot send a text with Command 20? I'm using an iPhone8 with the latest iOS
I have the [forward] and [new text] options, but when I try using them it attempts to send then says cannot send. Why even present these options if they're not available?
I have no issues receiving new texts.
This topic isn't covered well in the manual and I'm looking for some clarification, see below.
I cannot believe the the most popular smartphone brand on the market lacks functionality to properly communicate with Command 20. According to Apple, MAP Bluetooth is standard as of iPhone 4 onwards.
Any ideas??
