C400 - first kilometers....
Hi,
Just wanted to have your opinions on how to drive during the first kilometers in order to get good performance after...
I ask you that because I made two quick (but a bit strong) accelerations at 400Km. I was around 6'500turn in Sport+. I regret![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)
The rest of the time, I've always been really cool in my accelerations.
Do you think these two accelerations can hurt the engin for the future ?
Rgds.

If the motor had reached its normal operating temperature range, it would be pretty difficult to do any harm.

Ah OK, thank you for your quick answer.
Yes the engine was at its cruising temperature, around 85°C.
But in a more generic manier, what would you recommend for this first Km period in terms of rpm, mph, etc ?

That's a subject of endless debate. Generally speaking, you can't go wrong just following the recommendations given in the owner's manual.
