Need Help: C300 or C400??
Hello all,
I am in the middle of decision crisis, please help me out.
My current E63 lease ending soon, and i want to get out early to lower my financial load
I am in Canada and they have an event until end of this month (read tomorrow...) to have 3 month lease payment waived (up to $450/mth) for a new lease. So I only have one day to decide.
I had put in order already for a C400 with premium package but no AirMatic. I tested drive the C300 and it HAS an AirMatic installed. Strangely, up in the north here the C300 is not able to add AirMatic in any way, but the one i drove has it......
Anyway, I found out that after I put the order, then I went back yesterday to test drive a C400 without airmatic (similar to the one that i ordered) and i dont like it. the car is heavy and slow response at low speed (not saying its not fast in high speed and acceleration wise) and the main concern is the bumpy sport suspension.
I did more research here that the C400 is going to be discontinued this year and replaced by C450 AMG, so if I get the C400 now and seeing the C450 around in the next few months, I will be extremely upset. And I dont have the time to wait for it to come out.
So do you guys think I should just get the C300 instead??
Thanks for your input!

The C300 is very quick, and offers excellent fuel mileage. It also feels "light on its feet," and is quite agile.
The C400 is very fast, has a smoother engine, and is not as thrifty with fuel. It does feel heavier, although the actual weight difference with 4Matic is not that much.
C300 owners are typically very pleased with the turbo 4, but there's no less satisfaction among C400 owners.
I guess that really didn't help all that much ...

Thank you for all your great input!
I am waiting for my sales person to reply me on the stock availability for c300 with my options that i preferred.
With all the options that i need the price difference between c300 and c400 will be about $5k... that will be about $80 different a month... probably go cheap all the way
and i think can live with that steel springs, maybe i can even change to a softer aftermarket springs
Last thing I want to ask, does anyone here bought the 'First Class Lease Protection'? Is it necessary? I keep all my cars well (no scratch, no wheel scratches, crossing my fingers for the last 2 days) Thats another $40 a month for this plan.
Thanks

Thanks PeterUbers! You really understands me! I know it will be a HUGE difference from 550hp to 241hp... i will for sure missed that super powerful torque.
To be honest, i don't drive that fast, you guys can call me a waste... i even never used the launch control... but i always like big sedans with crazy power..... But now life changes, i need a more economical cars to save up some $$.
I think now i will see if there is a C300 with good options available, if not i have to go with the C400 that i originally ordered. Thanks~

But at the end now, the only available c300 with options that i wanted (plus many options i don't need) ended up with the price difference of $15 a month less... so I will stick with the c400.
Thanks guys!
