Where's your dream drive?

While I'm waiting for delivery of my C300 in late May, all I can do is dream about that special drive that will put a big smile on my face. Where do you head near your home for 2-3 hours when you want to experience the joy of driving your C-Class?

Here's where I'll go on my first fun drive, starting in Redwood City, CA: Rte 84 through Woodside; then take Skyline Boulevard, maybe stopping in at Thomas Fogarty winery; then follow Rte 9 to Santa Cruz for a meal; take Rte 1 alongside the ocean to San Gregorio; and finally Rte 84 back over the Santa Cruz mountains to home. About 3 hours not including stops.

Mandatory drive before you die should be PCH from Santa Monica to San Francisco. It's considered to be one of the best drives in the nation.

The drive up 1 north of the Golden Gate Bridge toward Point Reyes is pretty amazing as well. There's a spot along highway 1 called Muir Beach overlook that is pretty breathtaking, it never fails to amaze people when I take visitors there.

Also since you're in the Bay Area, there's a route that I saw on Autoblog many years ago that I've driven once.

They used to have a series called "Sunday Drives" but I don't think it picked up much traction as I never really saw many posts with that topic again.
