Front Differential Oil Leak

I recently had a scary experience with the new C Class. I have had my car for 7 months now, bought it after a week it was available in showrooms. C 300 4 matic, i still love the car.

A week ago, while driving the car started locking up its wheels and coming to a stand still ! i was lucky enough that nobody was behind me and i was on a small residential street. I called Roadside Assistance and it took them 2 hours to send a tow truck. After the tow truck arrived, the driver searched for a tow eye hook that was supposed to be in truck was missing. He had to go get another kind of tow equipment to get it onto a flatbed. 4 hours all together from breakdown to tow.
The dealer called me next morning informing me that front differential oil seal had a leak and oil had been drained out which was causing the lock up. They replaced the front differential which took them about a week. The car is back with me and drives fine.
Did anyone have such a issue ?

this is fairly common with the early production 205. at the factory during installation of the front axle shafts the side seals on the front diffs were getting torn causing the leak.
