Windshield Wiper Chatter

I used the wipers for the first time today, and I was surprised that they did not slide smoothly across the glass. They kept grabbing the glass to make a loud chattering noise - quite annoying. I have the HUD, so I know it has a special type of glass. Anybody else have this problem? Would Rain-X possibly help?

I recall this topic from another thread as well and if I recall correctly others have reported this same issue with MB wipers for a few years. I always use Rain-X glass cleaner on my windows as well.
