Has anyone used the emergency key on the door?

I just came back from the dealer. Every C Class I checked on the lot with Keyless-Go, and without, has the slot under the handle like Stan's.

I eventually got it to go back in, or so I thought. A trip on the freeway took care of that. No longer have that little cover piece now. Oh well.

Presumably that is why they moved to the other design.. If it's that fiddly then your dealer ought to pop a replacement in for you - not the cost that's the issue, but the ruddy principle.

Yeah, I'll ask if they can throw one in there whenever I happen to go there again. Does seem like a pretty crappy design...

My solution: Keep a Smart Car in the trunk in case of emergency. I can get into the trunk easily with the emergency key.

I had the opportunity to sit inside one of these. I couldn't believe how much leg room there is inside these death traps. I could get six of them and park them all in my two car garage.

I think you just found the solution to the no spare in the trunk issue. They could call it Run Smart.

I tried this back in December
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...e-vehicle.html

I gave up in the end as it seems too easy to damage the paintwork, poor design in my opinion.
