Navigation Input Question

I have used the voice command for the destination input, and it works well. The problem is the prompt asks for the street address and the city. I guess it defaults to the state you are in. But what if the destination is in another state. How do you use voice command to input the destination all at one time. Too bad you can't just say the street address and the zip code like with Google Maps.

In the UK you have to read the address out backwards which is really weird.

An address of;

1 park drive
Kirk Alperton
Leeds

Is read out (and will only be understood) as;

Leeds kirk Alperton park drive 1

No other system has ever done this, my BMW accepts it the correct way.

If the town has more than one instance (ie there are two towns with the same name), then it will ask you to choose which one you want.

(At least, that's how my W204 COMAND operates).

Well I figured it out. If you want to navigate to a state you are not in, you first have to say "enter state", say the state, and then it will prompt you to say the street address and town. Just too many steps. I don't know why they have to break it up like that...

Because otherwise you'd have to say the state each time you entered an address and people would be *****ing about that. It's super easy to enter an address, you just read it off. Most other cars prompt you for street, town, etc separately which is much more of a pain.

Why would you have to say the state every time? With my cell phone, I can voice input whatever information I have. It is not so rigid. Most of the time I just say the street address and the zip code. What could easier than that? That covers addresses in the whole country - just two data points.

I don't possibly see how having to know the zip codes of each town you travel to is easier than changing the state on the occasions that one leaves the state. But that's just me.

That's simple - two data point entries instead of three. Every address I have ever looked up has a zip code listed. What is there to know. In state you always need the street address and the town - two data point entries. Out of state, you need to add the state - a total of three data point entries. If you use the zip code, the in state and out of state entries are the same - two data point entries. How is that not easier? In any case, in state you could still just use the street address and town. It should just work either way like my cell phone.
