Eco Start/Stop new issue.
So I've noticed something new when using the start/stop feature this week.
Noticeable at night, but when I stop at a traffic light, the engine switches off. When I set off again, at the point when the car is cranking to restart.. I now notice the ambient light around the door handles and centre console etc dims/flickers as the car starts (no other lighting or instruments do it)
Is this normal? I didn't notice it doing this for the first few weeks.

Yeah I knew that, just thought it weird that after a few weeks now the lights have started dimming after auto start.. Thought maybe there might be something wrong with the starting or charging

Press the button when you start the car and voila you won't have to worry. I do wish MB would relent like BMW did and let us request the dealer to program the system to remember the last choice do we can leave it off if you want.

If battery gets low, or engine not warm, or needs A/C, it's not supposed to stop. That said here on Florida, by the time it cuts back on for A/C, you can feel it getting toasty. I imagine most gas saved is lost with it catching up the cabin temp and battery.
I almost always have it off, and often use individual setting for. Agility select and have it off there as well. Worse issues to deal with, though agree, cool if cleck box to permanently disable it.
With the gizmos, hooking up to battery charger occasionally when only doing short hops or when sitting more than usual can help too.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Yet another reason why Mercedes should have looked elsewhere instead of going with the ridiculous "band-aid" Eco start/stop approach to supposedly help improve gas mileage. At LEAST give us the option to turn this stupid system off PERMANENTLY...like BMW did for their customers...and please no argument from the peanut gallery about how this was the ONLY way Mercedes could meet current U.S. CAFE standards because I just don't believe the hype.
